Closed mined is judging something without examining it.
Like judging all blacks as bad because many of them are bad.
Your example re the governor appears to be based upon an examination of all the facts, and using discernment to weigh their credibility to derive a final outcome. Exactly the way we are to make decisions.
I often read the opinions of those I disagree with just to understand their mind and their decision making process. Each year I read the most common fallacies of logical argument just to become aware when they are used against me.
Do not throw the baby out with the bathwater by rejecting something that has a mixture of both good and bad. Learn discernment so you can sort them out yourself without binding yourself to emotional decision making.
I say this to myself as well as their are very opinionated and judgmental folks here on FR. I read their posts and decide based upon the merits of their comments, without judging them as all bad.
Yes, I saw your other post about them—you have a FEW women you’ve found throughout history who were MAYBE suitable. If so, they are RARE, the exception, not the rule. I still would not vote for a woman president. PERIOD.
