If we are serious about reshoring American industry, then tariffs on Indian products won’t cut it. We should also tariff Indian services. (Excerpt) Read more at realspmorrison.substack.com ...

The problem is, we talk about hiring Americans, but we vote for the cheap labor with our consumer dollars. We accuse greedy businesses of cutting costs, but we do the same thing for the same reason.

Even Ross Perot, who warned of the "giant sucking sound" if the trade deals were passed, had to cave and offshore to compete. What else was he going to do? Allow his businesses to go bankrupt as consumers choose the lower prices?

Voting at the voting booth isn't enough. If we want those jobs back for our kids and our Veterans, we need to speak loud and clear with our spending dollars.

As for the H1B's, I have no ill will towards them. They followed the rules and took the opportunities we offered them, all legal. They came here as LEGAL immigrants and should be treated as such, including a legal path to citizenship.

“It’s purely a case of importing cheap labor.”

Plus, they’re importing warm bodies for the RATs to count in the Census for more RAT representation seats. And ballot harvesting.

During my search for employment after the military I learned that most of the HR (hirers) were Indians. There were posted jobs and other things I didn’t understand, now I know thanks to the education here

Could be. Labor law precludes discrimination on that basis of national origin. I believe the US is still considered a nation.

However, consulting lawyers probably outlined a nice procedure where they can use this workaround legally with some plausible deniability that precludes them from getting sued.

But I would say, given the history where discrimination against minorities was “proved” by statistics (percentage of minorities hired lower than population, you could use the same tactics to show a company doesn’t have the “correct percentage” of US employees.

Both; two wrongs don't make (it)/(a) right.

H1-B and L-1B need go back to along with businesses fined for the grift. Next, elect better reps that put the US citizens as well as Judeo-Christian culture first. Finally institute strict immigration guidelines emphasizing the REQUIREMENT to sustain the political and cultural hegemony that created the want to come to the US along with the it's greatness in the first place. If not, make your own country great, especially that caste system hell-hole filled with absolute nepotism Indians want to employ in the US.

"...now I know thanks to the education here."

If you take certain demographics out, the educational system is fundamentally sound (Apparently that would be insensitive but whatever). Besides, there are plenty of US individuals that have training/experience. However, companies pretend they don't exists due to commanding fair wages compared bountiful equity and production plus the leverage the US worker has over the business. Corps love H1-Bs mainly for the lack of leverage.

I retired from tech work 5 years ago.

If a job did not specify US Citizen, it didn’t get one.

The whole process AND outcome is a crime against the country and its people.

Record profits, but oh, those darned operating expenses! America Last Scum.

The larger the corporation, organization, or government, the more psychopathic it becomes. The Wuhan virus creating CCP is the largest government in the world, and murders its own people for organ donations needed by CCP leaders, with zero ethics, concern, or emotion.

Swarms of MBA spreadsheet monkeys with stock options drove American cash cows into the ground by importing cheap substandard labor, for example: Intel and Boeing. Intel was two-thirds foreign-born near minimum wage engineers at one point. How well did that work out?

Others raised concerns about fake resumes and applicants with no real intention of taking the jobs—just sabotaging the process.

Unlike the Indians, who file fake resumes with the intent of actually and illegally taking the jobs.

The worst code I've ever seen was written by Indians.

The only H1B visa developers I ever worked with who deserved it were Argentine and Brazilian consultants. They were really exceptionally good.

As of about ten years ago, “consulting firms” (EY, PWC, etc.) paid about $65,000 as base salary to hire an H1-B. These consulting firms then lend these workers out for about 2.25X more as temporary help in big US companies that won't hire H1-Bs directly. The workers put in 40+ hours a week, which makes for overtime for those hours beyond 40.

The Indians rent apartments and may have 4-6 people per apartment. They send a lot of money home.

The H1-B consultant workers are nice to work with and their English is decent.

The consulting firms specifically screw over US citizens and the companies that hire these “consultants” do they same, but at much inflated prices to having just hired a US worker, to begin with.

Yeah, I know how this works, unfortunately. It's not the fault of the Indian H1-Bs, per se, but definitely some of them have inflated resumes and learn an incredible amount on the job to compensate. The consulting firms know this is how it happens.

not a whole lot on that site

It's growing every day and if you follow some of the Twitter posts, there's a lot of others chiming in helping him find those jobs in their areas.

So many of them are "remote" and you have to "fax" your resumes. Employers are pulling out all the stops to keep Americans from applying for these jobs.

DOJ and DOL need to step in and start cracking heads.

Bogus article.

Yeah, you can tell what side they're taking.

Americans are "sabotaging" the PERM process. (By applying for jobs?)

The applications must be "bogus" because American workers were never supposed to know about those job listings in the first place.

Who is to blame the hirer or the hirereeee?

So many of these hiring departments and upper management have been taken over by Indians. They want to bring over their own people.

Bigots and colonizers. The Indian caste system is codified bigotry.

Bigotry is in their values, mores and culture. They will always discriminate and will only support and promote their own.

Deport. Including the wife of the VP.

Do a google search for a job category... eg analyst.
All the human contacts are Indians....not only that, they are Indians who speak Hindi. It is impossible to understand what they are saying when they try to speak English.

How does a person who doesn’t speak Hindi communicate with the recruiter for the US job?

I’ve worked in IT beside immigrants from Mexico, China, Korea, India, Pakistan, Brazil, England, France, Germany, and of course Canada... more Canadians than anywhere else.

Some are qualified to do their assigned tasks. Some are not.
What is interesting is that us Americans never connect the dots.

HAVA/FEC/Help America Vote Acts/Federal Elections Commission
contracts for almost all US voter IT work. They heavily use Indians in India who do not understand English and do not understand US election laws and cullture.

The contracts are actually sub-contracts. The contracts are with “FOD-Friends of Dodd” the senator who wrote HAVA. FOD in CT have stated: It’s as if HAVA were written specifically for me.

But in all the discussion of voting and election problems, how often is that mentioned?

Someone with a high-tech degree, whether American or Indian, is smart, and with guts and determination can succeed no matter where they are.

Why aren’t Americans filling positions in India? Oh, never mind. It’s a hot, festering sh!t hole where you are at a disadvantage if you only speak English, and every now and then armed fanatics go on a killing spree, and cows are sacred so no hamburgers or steak. Other than that, it’s just like America.

Only Western Civilization (US and some parts of Europe) went thru the Enlightenment and thereafter formed governments expressing egalitarian values such as freedom, liberty and suffrage.

Other nations and civilizations have not experienced or adopted egalitarian values. India is not even Christian. They are heathens and have little concept of or respect for judeo-Christian values or culture.

Russia is an example of a Christian nation whose social and political institutions have not experienced or expresses egalitarianism. Russia remains stuck in 12th century feudalism. Boyars, peasants and serfs.
