The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is quietly developing an artificial intelligence system that could dramatically speed up asylum approvals worldwide.
While publicly marketed as an “efficiency tool” to identify bottlenecks in the refugee process, this AI system gives the UN something it has never had before: real-time control over the pace and volume of migration flows.
According to UNHCR, the AI is designed to:
Analyze global refugee case files in bulk.
Flag points in the process where applications stall.
Alert UN staff to “optimize” workflows in near real time.
Western countries are already under enormous political pressure to expand refugee intake quotas. This AI tool allows the UN to create surges.
Coordinating simultaneous case accelerations across multiple regions and timing these pushes to coincide with political debates over border policy Are just some of the ways these technologies could be weaponized.
Moreover, once embedded in UN operations, this system could be tuned to prioritize specific demographics or nationalities, shaping the cultural and political composition of incoming refugee waves.
“We are aiming at identifying the bottlenecks in the RSD process, and by doing so to devise strategies to tackle those bottlenecks,” UNHCR’s Adriana Rojas Arnaud explained.
“We’re looking into aggregate data processing times … to identify inefficiencies by identifying patterns and any issue-specific variables, for instance, that could have an impact on the length of the procedure.”
“As the project progresses, we expect to work with live data, so RSD officers will be able to actually look at data as cases are being processed,” Rojas said.

By EU, UN, immigration advocates.
Germany, which took in so many refugees is now trying to off load them to other EU countries.
Everyone will soon find out that AI is the least accurate, most manipulated, source of information there is.
Children are using it to recreate their parents demeanor and voices...CHILDREN!
Sees like more efficient way to open borders. Biden was apparently too slow.
Maybe it could be modified.
I would offer my own creation.
It just prints “asylum denied” in all cases!
Just couple of lines of code.
Working out the bugs that are slowing down their cultural suicide.
And we are still in and funding the UN, which was formed to undermine and end our sovereignty.
The UN wants to be able to create “surges.” This is just what the West does NOT need. And why is only the West supposed to take in droves of refugees? Send them to Africa, for example — lots of open land there. This drives me nuts.
I can write the same program.
It is just a loop that says, “Approved, send to the United States.”
Yeah, as the italians say, fukkeda that.
Isn’t it interesting that the UN has relatively little interest in alleviating that which causes people to flee their homes?
Probably because the reasons there are refugees is usually either Islam, or communism, with a small percentage of refugees from natural disaster aggravated by poor governance by radicals.
Given a seventy year failure in the West Bank and Gaza the UNHCR should be forced out of business. Certainly, the USA should not fund it.
Trump should’ve De-Funded the UN already. Nothing they do benefits the West, or the US in particular.
The UN in total is a force for evil. They were a primary funder and organizer of the invasion of the US during the Biden regime.
AI can expedite this, huh?
Just yesterday I read (not to change the thread topic, but) about the backlog of DNA samples and rape-kits. Some stated as 50 years. And in Australia, a lot of testing errors.
Couldn’t AI fix this first? Isn’t AI smart enough to priortize?
This is one more reason to pull out of the UN, Mr. President.
“United Nations”
A welcome to the new/old One World Government fueled and sustained by AI.
If AI had half a brain it would shut off electric power to the UN—permanently.
UN Analysis...
Benefits: None.
Cost: Ridiculously high number.
At least for this particular application… feature, not a bug.
