BTW most of Trump's tariffs haven't kicked in yet. So, arguments about how tariffs haven't boosted inflation are not valid.
So the record amounts of tariff revenue posted the last 2 months aren't real or don't represent tariffs overall.....? I'm slightly confused at your assertion that Trump's tariffs haven't kicked in" when we're pulling in record amounts of revenue from new tariffs.

A lot of the tariff revenue so far is on Chinese products. But a bunch of tariffs just went into effect on August 1st.
There're others that haven't gone into effect yet, like new reciprocal tariff rates on roughly 70 countries to take effect starting Aug. 7.
