Kenneth Harris spent most of his days in Atlanta yearning for a life in a place where his dark skin color is not a source of suspicion, but a mark of a shared heritage. His chance came two years ago when he bought a one-way ticket to Kenya.
The 38-year-old retired veteran has found a community in the east African country’s capital, where he now runs an Airbnb business. He loves admiring Nairobi’s golden sunset from a rooftop terrace, and enjoys a luxurious lifestyle in a tastefully furnished apartment in an upmarket neighborhood.
Harris is part of a growing wave of African Americans who are relocating to Kenya, citing the need to connect with their ancestors — or “coming home,” a phrase often used among the Black community.

its easier in Ghana no internet or rap culture to compete with, only reality to deal with not victimhood
There was a PBS documentary showing a couple of inner city boys who were sent to a Christian school in rural Africa. Totally turned them around. Most memorable from the show was when the boys were considering running away from the school one night until a local boy reminded them that there were lions about out there. Not advisable to go walking after dark.
Whether you move to Kenya or Kansas the main thing is get your kids away from Toxic Urban Culture.
OK. If that’s what they want.
Another crap article.
You know, I say this with no malice or sarcasm... I think that’s awesome. If they find peace and acceptance and financial success in Kenya, I am really happy for them. I once dreamed that I’d find that in the British Isles, but it turns out I’m really more American, and of course the UK has devolved horribly. But for Black Americans who have never really felt at home here, if they can go to Kenya and find what they are looking for, that is really cool.
The last time I was there the economy in Nairobi was dominated by people from India.
Hopefully, odoofus the illegal islamic and m’odoofus and odoofus’ Kenyan grandmother or is it his aunt(?) and cousin that are living on taxpayer funds will leave for Kenya soon, very soon. Soon won’t be fast enough.
Can we get this to accelerate?
Excellent decision!
“The reverse migration: African Americans relocating to Kenya cite heritage and restoration”
i really do wish these folks good luck, but i don’t foresee a happy future for them until they return to the USA, realizing just how good everyone has it here compared to most of the rest of the world ...
Would love to know the title of that documentary and see if it could be found on streaming.
Probably because black political leaders get their GOTV money from the education unions and Democrat Party which would view such schools as unfair competition the same way they do charter schools and home schooling.
What's you theory?
I would advise them to watch “Hotel Rwanda” first before moving to that area.
I’m guessing that even the poorest people, in this country, live better than hundreds of millions of people throughout the 190+, other, countries of the world!
“I’m guessing...”
And you’re guessing correct. But you would also understand that they are here living off the cuff of the people that made it here which includes the middle class that also covers their freebees. And when you also consider they are being taken under wing here is a huge increase in the liberals vote counts as the sponges are also indebted mostly to them, educated by them, and had promises made to them just for their loyalty.
And this is not new. It’s been going on in the Central Valley of California since the 30’s and 40’s. It probably isn’t the only place, either. Or any particular race.
