History is not prognosis, and the pendulum DOES swing back. Who knows, a really charismatic personality may take up the mantle, and the Democrats come roaring back, a possibility not to be dismissed. After all, nobody predicted Trump, but he did put a vast scattering among the Democrat Socialists. And in doing so, he simultaneously managed to reform the Republicans into the home of MAGA, the “magic wand” that transformed so much of the United States back into something of what it once was.
But there is now an alternative picture of what the USA might become, and it is uncommonly attractive to a small cadre who wish to get back in the saddle.
The fall of the Dem Party started in the 1960s and shows no signs of abating. A flash-in-the-pan personality might show up to try and save it, but it will be a vain effort.
