....indeed......!! got a KelTec P17 some years back and have
had a lot of fun with it....not so sure about their new
PR57...couple of YouTube reviews were not so encouraging....
P380 here. Polished the ramp with 3M scotch brite when I first got it and the extended mag to fit my hand. Never had a misfeed or jam. Love it. Everyone that shoots it wants one. We look for them at Gun Shows but they are getting scarce.
Store it in a dry, low humidity room. The spring easily rusts out. Happened to me on two of them.
PR57 is a great concept, whether the quality of manufacturing can live up to it is TBD.
So it would be illegal in NYS and CA...10 round max.
I don’t know if New York or California gun laws would account for a non-detachable internal box magazine, but it’s a safe bet that you’re correct.
Good to know. Not a real problem here in Central/West TX, but I will definitely keep an eye on it. Thanks, FRiend.
Keltec makes great stuff..
That tend to need a bit of fluff and buff to make them 100%
But the 5.7/ .17hmr, etc.. are great target rounds. But, they are just hot 22s.
The whole point of the 5.7 and the FNs that spawned them were as AP rounds.
Ballistic round, long distance accuracy, 20rd capacity. I don't see the pistol designed for what they claim, but I like it.
Police are trained to keep shooting until the taget drops.
A moderately trained civilian.. under stress, hopefully, moving. Is likely to miss quite a bit.
Or depending on training, conditions, movement of shooter and target, hitting a vital organ that drops the target immediately are NOT at all graranteed. a little 22 cal bullet is a lot smaller than a 38/9 or 45. smaller bullets make smaller holes.
having more bullets on tap is ALWAYS better.
P11 here. With the factory 12 round mag it’s a P13 :)
Not a range gun.
Is the P17 also stripper fed? I like that feature. Much faster than reloading detachable magazines.
Honestly? As for bottleneck rounds I really like the old school Tokarev TT 7.62x25. As with these you just better be sure of what might be behind the intended target...
“...To Churn Out 1,000 Pistols Per Week”
They’re just gearing up to fill back orders to the cartels.

Aren’t they the ones who make the famed Yeet Cannon and the cool folding PCC?
Magazines need a hole drilled in the side for a rivet to stop you from loading over 10 rounds. Once home, pop out the rivet and business as usual!
My first AR-15, purchased in 1070 had the 20 round magazines blocked to 5 rounds. I disassembled the magazines, took out the block and was now back to 20 rounds.
Our local farm and ranch store has AR-15 magazines for 30 rounds. They will also take only 10 rounds of a different caliber.

Perfect EDC but NOT fun to shoot. Beretta PX4 Storm is a dream to fire but a boat anchor to carry around so Kel-Tec it is.
I agree that Keltec produces some of the more innovative and exotic firearms, but their products frequently run into reliability issues.
