He ran in 24. Didn’t want to run but Trump asked him.
Just quit today. Announced it a few weeks ago.
We will have a special election.

So, yes. He just re-upped and didn’t fulfill his obligation. He’s a big boy and is responsible for his own decisions.
It’s a safe R seat
That makes me feel better about it. Glad to hear it.
Not true.
Texas, by law, has Uniform Election Dates to fill vacancies. The first uniform election date would have been Saturday, May 3, 2025, but Harris County was going through an election administration scandal at the time where the integrity of elections was being investigated. Abbott didn't think that the county could hold a secure election in the midst of being investigated of the last election.
As a result, Abbott pushed off the special election to the next uniform election date, which is this coming November 4, 2025.

“ Abbott refuses to call a special election for Sylvester Turners seat…”
I don’t think this is right. Although the governor can set the time, he is obligated to have an election.
Stefanik never left Congress. Otherwise, she would not be able to return.
Yes, hochul was going to wait until November 2026, when Stefanik’s term ends and leave the seat open till then.
Did I say she left? She was named ambassador to the UN and was going to take the job but was forced to return after hochul played her games
So Green stayed long enough to vote on Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, and to get his pension. Sounds like a win, win. and classic politics

Ah, yes, the ‘take the HIGH road...while they knee-cap & stab in the back’ has worked WONDERS every time it’s been tried.
The (R)each-around (but will take it dry when reversed) party strikes again *facepalm*
