Bingo.
Noticed that last week. I paid with a debit bank card.
wow. love it. great job Uncle Festerman.
Right, people need to think it through completely.
“Absolutely No Checks Accepted”. Nobody would want to force a business or a private seller to take checks would they?
By the same token - “Cash Only” businesses exist, too. “We Don’t Take Credit or Debit Cards” They don’t want the Merchants Agreements and all that jazz. All of these are business decisions. Financially speaking it might be stupid not to take cash, or credit cards, or EBT, or whatever.
In a Free Country, as the business owner I get to decide what is acceptable exchange for my services or wares. Not the government, not Senator Fenster, not anybody else. Don’t like it, go shop somewhere else.
Texas is the same way.
Mr. Creosote?
Agreed, good to hear someone is addressing this problem.
:)
Some years back I had some trees removed, can’t remember how he couched it exactly but he was hinting that equivalent value in gold or silver was just fine.
That’s yet another reason I don’t want politicians getting involved. The national government is $38 Trillion in the hole. Maybe it’s a good idea to accept or hold dollars going forward. Maybe. Maybe not. Forcing businesses to accept a rapidly devaluing currency unit seems ill advised. A Cynic might suggest that’s what this is about. Virtually every currency crisis in history is usually an overnight thing, at least at some point. In the 1930s if you had cash in the mattress you were good to go. In the 2030s it may well be the opposite. Who knows, but the dollar is no longer defined as such. In accounting, the unit of account has to be defined. At the risk of sounding like one of those lunatic anti-tax wankers, “what is a dollar?” is actually a pretty good question.
Actually those don't really work anymore. I haven't had CC in years that had the info embossed on it for those to work. I think now they just take photo.
Very.
If you find yourself in agreement with a Leftist Democrat, perhaps you might consider the possibility you don’t fully understand the problem?
The permit is need to achieve CCW in 30 other states. Without the permit you only have the right in Florida itself.
oh yes, I kind of forgot about that part. Thanks!
Dam straight. As goofy as Uncle Fester is, he comes up with some good ones once in a while.
Did i see where they were putting tattoo numbers on people in Germany for government IDs?
He’s a Dem, but he has his feet on the ground. He’s not a loon.
I agree, it seems wrong not to take cash. The one exception I would have is delivery drivers. Even with on board safes, it puts the drivers at too much risk.
Retail transactions are not considered “debts” under the law.
If someone sends you a bill for a prior sale or service rendered, then that is a debt, and they could not refuse a cash payment. The same with paying a loan back.
I am sick of going places that will not accept cash!
Many provide services like car washes or dry cleaners and I don’t know if its employee theft concerns or paying the servicing fee to the credit card companies.
One must find it comforting that banks need to be trusted with every single digital dollar you have in a cashless society..
