I can honestly say I have never watched more than 10 seconds of his show through the years. Whenever I saw his smug mug, a button was pressed.
What a HUGE expense for little to show for that outlay! Just WOW; no wonder the show is being cancelled!
Chilling just because there’s one less leftist asshole on late night?
Lol!
Colbert is only a fraction of a Nielson point ahead of Fallon. CBS got tired of losing $40 million a year for that tiny fraction. Colbert’s share of the all-important 18-49 demographic was also abysmal. It’s probably time for a lot of old shows to be wrapped up. It’s not like the “cultural landscape” isn’t already messed up.

They watch Shane Gillis on YouTube
You’re right
CBS used to have movies at 11:30, no? During March Madness, there would be an 11:30 p.m. game.
ABC - I don’t recall if they had anything before Nightline.
What is chilling about canceling a show with low ratings that is losing money? Liberals are nuts.
The Rush Limbaugh show was the last late night television worth watching.
you did it to yourself stephen
I really liked the movie MASH, but absolutely hated the TV show. Basically becausd of Alan Alda and that other liberal dipshit.
neither white
How far back are you talking about, because starting in the very early '50s all three major networks did show movies late at night, in the Tri-State area of N.Y./Ct./N,J.!
Channel 5, a local N.Y. channel showed movies as did another two local channels: 9 ( the Million Dollar Movie was the name of that show and they showed a movie twice daily all through on week, over and over, and over again ) and 11.
chevy chase gave it a good run
my 22 year old son would say
who?
I was thinking 1970’s - 1980’s, but found this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_late-night_American_network_TV_programs
msnbc might pick it up at a much lower budget
colbert could jump on another sinking ship
