While some states are trying to claw back your rights, Texas just doubled down on theirs. The NRA reported that over the weekend, Governor Greg Abbott approved five new Texas pro-gun laws, each one a win for personal liberty and the Second Amendment.
1. HB 1403 – Respect for Foster Families Who Exercise Their Rights
2. SB 706 – Universal Recognition of Out-of-State Carry Licenses
3. SB 1362 – Blocking Unconstitutional Red Flag Orders
4. SB 1596 – Legalizing Short-Barreled Rifles and Shotguns at the State Level
5. SB 1718 – Incentivizing the NRA Annual Meeting in Texas

The Texas License to Carry (LTC) is our law.
It is different from some states requiring Concealed Carry.

One part i don’t like is the universal recognition of ALL out of state licenses. The only reason is- that I prefer only recognizing those states which recognize a Texas conceal license. If there is no reciprocity then there is no incentive for the other state to recognize our license.

The site I linked, is for Concealed Carry. But they are acting for Texas’s License.
It would be best for everyone to be able to carry.
The Left wants nobody to have a weapon. The police in some states wants to minimize the number of firearms (particularly hand guns).
The culture in NYC is not the culture in Central Texas.
Texas was a very long time accepting handguns under LTC. Carry over from the Civil War and short occupation by Fed Gov. They found they were not welcome and decided it was time to leave.

That's true, but it's an aspect of a deeper truth.
For the statists, all authority belongs to the state. Because it always works out that way in the end, responsibility and authority balance, and therefore all responsibility belongs to the state. An evil person (criminal) is not really responsible for his evil acts because only the state is responsible. ("Society made him do it.")
Because all authority belongs to the state, you can't have individual citizens exercising real authority. This includes not having authority over political decisions, but it extends all the way to not have any effective way to exercise authority of their (our) own lives. We make not meaningful decisions - least of all life or death decisions.
It's why they don't want us to have weapons, but it's also why they don't want us to have personal mobility (cars) but must use mass transit. We can't have our children taught personal responsibility but must indoctrinate them in government schools. We can't decide what to eat, but must accept bugs or whatever else the state dictates. Since *everything* - even breathing - produces carbon dioxide, everything must be under the control of the state.
Only government - which is, of course, run by the self-anointed 'elite' - can make meaningful decisions.
