WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump secured approval of his first judicial nominee of his second term, as the U.S. Senate confirmed a former law clerk to three members of the U.S. Supreme Court's conservative majority to a seat on a federal appeals court. The Republican-led Senate voted 46-42 along party lines in favor of Whitney Hermandorfer, a lawyer serving under Tennessee's attorney general, to be appointed as a life-tenured judge on the Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

And they did, what - 50 of them - in the month before Trump took office? Disgraceful.

Party line vote. The democrats do not even pretend anymore to vote based on whether the nominee is qualified. Biden, on the other hand, could almost always get some GOP help

Since most of Biden’s nominees were DEI, I suppose Republicans thought they’d be accused of racism if they didn’t approve them. They need to GROW A SPINE!

No offense against Ms. Hermandorfer, but I don’t get a good feeling about women judges. She’s young, pretty, and apparently well qualified and all, but it seems women in those roles too often get influenced by their emotions. Are there no good men qualified for this position?

It’s about time!
These lazy, whining, back-stabbing GOP senators all need a good ass kicking...

They pulled the same crap from 2017-2020...

I don’t think the nomination has been pending all that long

Biden appointed 45 judges on the appeals court and 187 to district courts. We’ve got a lot of work to do to counter the damage he did to the federal courts.

Apparently, that is asking too much of these always-maneuvering weaklings.

We're not out of the woods yet:

It's just a matter of time until the entire SCOTUS is female, all competing to see who can wear the most creative neckpiece. Colorful robes will be next.

We could have a white male judge like the DC judge who kept issuing injunctions against Trump if you would prefer.

Trump hasn’t really been fast tracking sending in nominees so far. That will probably be amped up now with the budget bill having been sent through.

Who's "they"? There was no "Republican led US Senate" then.
