That people get the government they deserve is a cruel adage, too cruel if you live in dark places where a small minority with guns terrorizes an unarmed population — see “Cuba, socialist state of.” But in a democracy, the maxim holds firmly.
Which means that if the citizens of New York City vote in Zohran Mamdani as their mayor come November, and things go badly, then Gotham really can’t ask for our sympathy. That Democrats voted him as their candidate in the primary on June 24 is one thing, but if voters of all parties ratify that decision on Election Day, that’s another.
Then it’s Pottery Barn rules: If you break it, you own it. Sure, it’s only natural to spare an initial thought for our compatriots from the Bronx to Staten Island if things go south, but after that, sit back and get the popcorn. I plan to do so wearing my threadbare Yankee cap.

At all.
And that’s the issue right there. He’s a cancer and he will metastasize if not stopped now. No sign, yet, of which, if any, of the other three stooges will bow out and start getting momentum behind one of them
N.Y.C. is over 40% migrant, legal or otherwise. It’s been replaced as planned. Don’t waste tears over the tiny number of people there who actually vote.
This is happening because that’s the plan for all large urban areas...chase away anyone with money or brains and waltz into power. It’s even easier if you bring in people who have no respect or knowledge for individual freedoms.
And to top it off, when it fails spectacularly, they’ll blame Trump!
Just another Ghost Town for tourists.
It must be walled off or the virus will spread.
NYC always expects the entire country to kiss their ass. :)
i am a lifelong NYer and still live here- and i hope this happens...NYChitty is a third world craphole and this will be the final nail in their coffin....i laugh as i am surrounded by pasty white, self loathing liberal Jews who constantly vote for their own demise- this is just the next step...
I was part of a large group of NYers who purposely did not have our families counted in the 2020 census as we do not want NY’s influence spread around the country- and it worked...
I literally hope every day and night this state and NYChitty go bankrupt-....ayatollad mandani becoming the next mayor of NYChitty is a good thing- for our side...
Why don’t people think New York has been taken over by the same group that put JB in after Trump won in 2020?
New Yorkers don’t vote for this.
He got where he is because:
1. his opponent was Andrew Cuomo, a man tarnished by nursing home deaths (due to his excessive willingness to bow to hospital demands to transfer Covid death risk) and a perceived (if not deserved) reputation as overly aggressive towards females,
2. a number of soundly thought-out reforms, and
3. a number of proposed widely-sought changes [child care, etc.] that are simply more than many NYC corporations and individuals are willing to pay taxes for.
Going forward, Mamdani is positioned to enjoy a divided opposition (Cuomo & Silva) that will likely enable him to win just as with the divided opposition (Reform & Conservative) that resulted in a Starmer-led UK Labour government.
Mamdani’s campaign has been skillfully run and that has caused many New Yorkers to think he is skilled enough to run New York City.

Islam is a war plan
How do you see this playing out? Sliwa winning? Adams getting reelected?
Not a Bloomberg fan, at all, but the two times I was in NYC during his administration, I was struck by how well the municipal functions were. Grew up in the suburbs in the bad old days, only there a couple of times during the Rudy years, and then twice during De blah blah blah’s term. Granted, Bloomberg inherited Rudy’s legacy, but at least he did not squander it. Thanks.
“”They should not expect us to bail them out!””
They will probably gamble and bank/bet on the Democrats stealing another election... whereby they’ll get their federal income taxpayer-funded bailout.
Every major city is run by hardcore leftists. The mayors and city councils have been Democrats for decades.
Crime and corruption in Democrat run cities is a fact of life. Anyone who thinks the electorate is going to have an epiphany is naive.
The voters never learn.
There really IS such a thing as mass-scale brainwashing.
Joseph Goebbels knew it well.
Control the mass media. Control the schools. Find and groom some entertainment and sports figures to parrot the commie/nazi/islamonazi false narratives.
That’s MORE than enough to indoctrinate the vast majority of the population.
What’s fascinating is that the old (and continuing?) “mind control” experiments ... weren’t (aren’t) necessary. Not at all. Neither are brain-controlling implants or chemicals (other than perhaps sedatives).
Orwell saw this clearly. His 1984 character OBrien said,
“We (the Party) control matter (people, society, everything) because we control the mind. Reality is inside the skull.”
