The Zelensky team have fought any efforts at end the war by refusing to negotiate an end to the war - not because the Ukraine is in a strong position but because the Ukraine was going to collapse in the fall of 2025 when the Biden era weapons supply agreements and financial aid run out.
Their goal is create a crisis in Ukraine that forces President Trump to double down on weapons and financial aid to avoid being blamed for a disastrous end to a war he did not start and perhaps even to create public pressure to force Trump to intervene directly in Ukraine in response to their manufactured crisis.
To counter this, Trump offered both Russia and Ukraine unbelievably sweet deals to end the war but there was a very narrow window of opportunity to cut a deal.
The obstinacy of Zelensky, cheered on by the EU and US pro war Uni Party towards any kind of realistic settlement has closed that window of opportunity and the Russians are thinking why should they make any concessions when they are already winning despite US arms transfers when the Ukraine is about to have the weapons and financial aid cut off in a couple of months.
So the Zelensky plan to manufacture a crisis in Ukraine that forces Trump to intervene is working.
In response , Trump is trying to dump this disaster onto the Europeans who are responsible for blocking any peace agreements.
Trump is likely going for broke in the Ukraine for one last chance at a negotiated peace by sending the Ukraine the weapons to make life very hard for the Russians and try to force Putin to reconsider the notion that if they wait a few more months ,the Ukrainian resistance will collapse due lack of money and weapons .
This is very sad because a couple of hundred thousand Russian and Ukrainian troops have been killed or wounded due to this games playing since Trump took office and began his efforts to end the bloodshed.

Both Zelensky and Putin are manipulators and both have been jerking the peacemakers around. Then without US arms, Zelensky became more amenable.
Putin continued to jerk Trump around and bombed a maternity ward to boot…..killing mothers and babies. That riled Trump! The weapons to Ukraine won’t be free. I expect defensive weapons to Ukraine and sanctions imposed on Russia. Putin went too far when he bombed innocent mothers and babies. That’s when things began to go against Putin.

Completely untrue, Russia has a well funded government/Putin connected state church that no one attends and whose government harasses and persecutes actual protestant and Catholic Christians, while Ukraine actually has much higher Orthodox church attendance with complete acceptance of Protestants and Catholics as well.

We need to start a draft in the USA like they have in Ukraine for the twenty Million men (and women) needed for the war with Russia and China. We will need a thousand ship Navy too to ferry them to Asia for the March on Peking, and for Europe for the March on Moscow. Every illegal in the world will be needed for the war factories—18 hour days to produce drones. Rations of meat and sugars—Meatless Mondays and Tuesdays as well as a 45 MPH speed limit to save gas. Canada must be occupied as well as Greenland. All singing groups must make pro American music or face jail time. Anything anti-war is treason punishable by death. We must save Ukraine and Mr. Zelenskyy at all cost! NOT.

He had to cut a deal with the Saudis to flood oil production first, so that cutting off Russian oil exports didn’t skyrocket oil prices. Apparently, destroying Iran’s nuke program did the trick - the Saudis have opened the taps.

Like most zeepers, you’re confusing the Soviet Union which is a historical footnote, with the modern Russian Federation which reconsecrated St. Basils cathedral and rebuilt the incredible Cathedral of Christ the Savior which was destroyed by Stalin in the 1930s. Russia revers Jesus Christ, while Ukraine worships Stefan Bandera.

It is laughable that you mentioned what I described, the well funded government/Putin state church, of course they rebuilt those state churches, and church attendance in Russia barely exists, it is a state operation, symbolism and plenty of theatrical ceremony, but empty buildings.
You’re very misinformed.. there is NO “state church” in the Russian Federation. In fact there was no state church even under the darkest days of Bolshevism in the Soviet Union. The only state church of relevance today is the Chinese patriotic church which is subordinate to the communist party of China.
The present Russian Orthodox Church has 110 million members and has been building three churches a day for the last 10 years for an increase in 30,000 communities. Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Her Zelenski introduced a law, adopted August 20, 2024, which prohibits the Russian Orthodox Church from operating in Ukraine and bans any religious organization in Ukraine with ties to it or any other religious organizations based in countries “engaged in armed aggression against Ukraine.” It authorizes the State Service to jail priests, confiscate property and harass and persecute believers. And the Russian Orthodox Church is the biggest denomination in Ukraine.
I’m not misinformed, you are being dishonest, the government and that church are deeply intertwined, including building churches, intelligence and military cooperation, and KGB agents before the FSB, the Orthodox church in Russia is operating hand in hand with the government while the government discourages Protestants and Catholics.
