With the impending expiration of the $7,500 EV tax credit, Tesla and Ford are desperately pushing potential buyers to make their purchases before the September 30 deadline. Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill has ended the EV handout, much to the dismay of Elon Musk, Ford, and others trying to sell EVs to Americans who have not embraced the technology.
Business Insider reports that the race is on for automakers to sell as many EVs as possible before the $7,500 tax credit, a crucial incentive for buyers, comes to an end on September 30. President Donald Trump’s recently passed Big Beautiful Bill is set to eliminate this subsidy, which has played a significant role in making EVs more attractive to consumers.
In response to the looming deadline, Tesla and Ford are taking proactive measures to capitalize on the last-minute surge in demand. Tesla’s website prominently features a banner warning potential buyers about the expiring tax credit and urging them to take delivery by the end of September. Elon Musk’s EV giant is also reportedly sending out emails to would-be customers, emphasizing the importance of completing their purchases before the deadline to qualify for the $7,500 discount.

Think about it. EV used market share is smaller than new car share.
I'm happy that you now finally agree with me that Ford and all legacy automakers around the world are totally incompetent when it comes to high tech. That's what I've been repeatedly saying over and over and over (glad that you're finally catching on). LOL.
And warning about China isn't going to enhance Ford's sales of EVs. China won't be allowed to dump EVs ... Americans are not going to buy that junk.anyway
Ford CEO Jim Farley (who knows the global auto/EV industry far, Far, FAR better than you ever will) publicly declared that Chinese EVs are an "existential threat" to the auto industry. (In case you're not aware, "adorno," Ford is in the auto industry, too, so the Ford CEO is saying that Chinese EVs are an "existential threat" to Ford as well. LOL.)
BTW, I'm not anti-EV.
Nonsense, you shameless, dishonest con-artist. You just called EVs "junk" only three sentences prior to that, you total buffoon ... even though Ford CEO Farley (who knows the global auto/EV industry, far, Far, FAR, FAR better than you ever will) said that Chinese EVs are so good that they pose an "existential threat" to Ford (and the entire global auto industry). You're so full of s*it, "adorno," that it's obvious to everyone ... who is sane.
But nice try with desperately throwing your Demokrat girlfriend kamaLa into the mix. You're so hopelessly clueless that you make Demokrat kamaLa look like Einstein. (And that's impossible to do, yet you just managed to do the impossible. Congrats!)
So keep making a total fool of yourself regarding "EVs vs ICE" ... keep digging your hole deeper & deeper ...
LOL.
You're absolutely right: All legacy automakers (all of whom are totally incompetent at high tech) desperately need all kinds of EV subsidies to keep their comically money-losing EV operations afloat. When Sleepy Joe's handlers started talking up EV subsidies after the 2020 Stolen Election, Musk said they're a bad idea. But Demokrat Sleepy Joe's handlers still approved EV subsidies anyway.
In case you didn't catch on (you obviously didn't), I was just being sarcastic - aka, only joking - when I said earlier on this thread that the richest person in the world is a total and complete "moron." (I didn't think I needed to end that post with /s because I just assumed freepers would realize I was clearly kidding about that. How could the richest person on earth possibly be a total "moron?" I mean, c'mon. Wake the hell up.)
You also intentionally and falsely claimed that I said Ford CEO Jim Farley is "great." Nope, Mr. T. B. Strawman, I never once said that the Ford CEO is "great." Not once, even though you deceitfully and falsely claim I said it. You need to stop irrationally blabbing about logical "fallacies" and stop deliberately lying about what I actually said. You're the most disingenuous person I've ever talked to ... except for "adorno." What I actually did say about the Ford CEO Jim Farley is that he knows far, Far, FAR, FAR more about the global auto/EV industry than anyone on this board ... which includes you. So when Ford CEO Jim Farley publicly declares that Chinese EVs are an "existential threat" to Ford, implying Trump better ban Chinese EVs from the U.S., it's quite obvious to everyone (who is sane) that the Ford CEO realizes that Chinese EVs are a huge threat to Ford. And as you and everyone knows, Ford is almost all ICE, so the Ford CEO must be absolutely convinced that Chinese EVs are therefore an "existential threat" to Ford ICE vehicles. Got it yet? There is no other logical conclusion.
YOU brought logic into it (Post 91). You stop pushing logical fallacies, and I'll stop calling you out on them.
(Although, as I said, I believe you could hit every one of them, whether intentionally or not).
You're the most disingenuous person I've ever talked to ... except for "adorno."
Well, we've never talked and that's a complete lie that I'm the second most "disingenuous" person you've interacted with, unless you really, really don't get out much. That I could believe. You push the logical fallacies because you're unwilling (deceit) or unable (deficiency) to argue truthfully. I'll grant you "unable" due to the pie-in-the-sky EV ideas. Deception is normally more organized and effective.
I get it. You get paid to post. You're hawking EVs. You or someone in your family might work for Tesla or be heavily invested into them. You might be a high-functioning autist like Elon Musk.
But go peddle logical fallacies on someone else.
I think the paid posters have always been a problem. It’s hard to believe someone making the boneheaded arguments that you’ve dismantled isn’t being paid to spew such drivel.
I spent years in the trenches here and in other places making arguments against it. I can’t do it anymore...I burned out long ago. This one was so bad that I almost came out of hibernation...lol
I don't post to change minds, I post so that others know they're not alone. (I also add in some fun stuff when it fits).
As for news, I'll start a thread if it's something I have particular interest in that others haven't already started. I've noticed I have to start threads less with others being more involved.
I believe some of these posters are paid by the number of responses. If so, may the company paying them exhaust their budgets.
