US Ambassador Mike Huckabee said that US B-2 bomber planes "need to visit Yemen" after the Houthis launched a missile towards Jerusalem on Tuesday.
"We thought we were done with missiles coming to Israel, but Houthis just lit one up over us in Israel," the ambassador wrote on X/Twitter.
"Fortunately, Israel's incredible interception system means we go to the shelter & wait until all clear. Maybe those B2 bombers need to visit Yemen!"
Huckabee's statement came after the Israel Air Force intercepted a missile from Yemen on Tuesday night. Sirens sounded in Jerusalem and the central area.
In a later statement, Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Yemen would pay for the strike. "The law of Yemen is the law of Tehran," he wrote. "After we strike the head of the serpent in Tehran, we will also strike the tail of the serpent in Yemen."
B-2 bombers strike Iran, 'obliterate' nuclear sites The B-2 bombers were used most recently in the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, Operation Midnight Hammer. US officials said more than 30 tons of bombs were dropped using the planes.
There are only 20 B-2 bombers in the US Air Force's inventory, so they are usually used sparingly.

Reduce the Houthis, their enablers, and their leadership to powder and greasy puddles of paste.
Note that the latest Houthi missile attack was today (Tuesday) about 1:30pm EDT US. The interception was visible from the Jerusalem area.

That was 30T per plane. There are only 19 currently available. Is this the standard of the Jerusalem Post?
It would not take 1/100th as much for the Houthis to resurrect the locations of their missile launch sites as it will for the Mullahs in Tehran to rebuild their nuclear program. We could bomb the Houthi missile positions with regular bombs and sea based missiles. No need to use the B2s. And bomb them again when they repeat their missile launches at U.S., international shipping, or Israeli interests.
I’m trying to figure out where the Houthis rocket scientists came from. Do the universities in Yemen have those kind of graduate programs?
Each B-2 can carry 80 500 lb JDAMs, which can be programmed to hit specific targets. One pass and the battlefield is unrecognizable. Having 7 B-2s pass would be a very bad day for the Iranian surrogates in Yemen.
Houthi expertise comes from Iran, with some help from Russia and China. North Korea has been trying to sell tech in the Middle East also.
Mike Huckabee needs to remember that he is the ambassador to Israel, not the president or a member of the national security team.
Go ahead, Mike. Jump in that front seat. Take plenty of Rrlaxium. It’s a long flight.
I agree. Me thinks he is taken too much on to himself and his importance.
A few B52s carpet bombing would be enough.
Musk could well focus on sending the Huckster to Mars.
Nobody in Jerusalem or WashDC had ever done anything bad to the Hooties before they started attacking and threatening, they are pure mercenaries for the Satanic Iranian regime and nothing more. Need to be eliminated NOW so that shipping through the Bar-El-Mandeb straight and Suez Canal and can be freed up
He’s just relaying the demands of his Israeli handlers.
I agree with the sentiment, but we’re not going to nuke them.
So what can we do? They do have air defenses, having brought down six MQ-9 Reaper drones. Reapers are slow, 200mph and relatively low-fliers, at 25,00ft ceiling. The newer ones do have active stealth components, but nothing like an F35.
They do have Barq-1 and Barq-2 SAMs, based on Iranian missiles, which are, in turn based on Soviet and American missiles of decades ago. They’re medium range SAMs of unknown capability, but probably have a range between 50 and 93 miles (80 and 150 kilometers) and be able to reach targets at altitudes of between 20,000 and 30,000 feet.
They have a strange loitering SAM that uses a jet with a secondary solid fuel engine called the “358”.
They have drone-launched Russian air-to-air missiles.
Their radar has been degraded but exists.
The best solution would be B52 raids with tons and tons of semi-guided dumb bombs. They are high-flyers, but I suspect there are some SAMs that could hit them. Big risk. Big reward.
F18s have been flying with some impunity over Yemen, but still using stand-off munitions, which tells me SAMs are still a threat.
In short, a sustained bombing campaign with 35s, 18s, 15s, cruise missiles, and the like is probably in order before the big 52s go into action.
Nonsense. But he is cheering their side.
Understandable, given he is in country.
Yemen has historically been a base for piracy. This is why the Brits colonized it in the first place.
This.
