I live several thousand miles away, never liked NYC, and didn’t visit often, so what do I know? But my take from afar is that Adams needs to keep up his security. I would think that, despite his disadvantages in general, he will look terrific in contrast to this disaster in waiting. So, among the lunatics aligned with Mamdani, someone may think it necessary to take him out. Just saying.

I was downtown Manhattan, on two occasions. I never saw anybody smiling - anywhere.

PS. That late night, heading for the Brooklyn Bridge, I drove thru the very narrow streets of Greenwich Village that was completely encompassed by a fog of marijuana.
