The Democrat party wants to remain the party of the administrative deep state, full of experts.
It doesn’t want to be the party of outright socialist state control. State ownership over the means of production.

Nobody gives a fig what James Carville thinks about anything. He's utterly irrelevant. His time was up a LONG time ago.

It’s the logical evolution of the dim party. They’re recognizing they are indeed socialists.

When the moronic NY voters would have been better off voting for Carville,
then you know New York is far beyond doomed. The place is already a Hellhole -
it should be almost interesting to watch it, amazingly, get even WORSE.

The Cajun snakehead needs to accept that the younger Dims are dumber and more radical than even Obama, and this is not the party of Kennedy and Clinton anymore. The boomers might have an occasional win, like when they dumped Hogg, but the young, active supporters will eventually oust Carville and his cohort.

Carville is totally correct. This guy was voted for by free loaders. If it keeps going this way, they are done.

If more than an third of NYC Democrats had bothered to show up and vote, then it is possible there would have been a different outcome. There were better candidates than Mamdani. I don’t know any of them except for Cuomo, but I am guessing that any one of them would have been an improvement over Mamdani.

Personally? I hope that the Socialist Democrats KEEP going to the left...until they fall off a CLIFF and are relegated to the Trash Bin of History!

The real problem for the Democrats is what we have all known. The NYC race has always been the known landing point of the Democrat Party. Look at LA and Portland. What Carville is actually bemoaning is that Democrats will no longer be able to hide who they really are and what their intent is.

"Potentially damaging event" for the Democrat Party? - It's a signature event for the Democrat Party. The man is a foreign Marxist, fully supported by all the other wealthy foreign Marxists in New York City.
What does anyone think the Democrats mean when they openly refer to themselves as Democrat Socialists?

This guy will definately move NYC to the left of even Los Angeles and San Francisco

Poor Jim. He spent the 1990s creating a winning centrist Democrat coalition that is being pulled sharply left and destroyed in his old age.
