Russia has been weakened tremendously, militarily and economically. Russia cannot rebuild to get back the huge losses it's suffered during the war. And economically,it's got no friends left that can assist in restoring any economic stability, especially when it was one of the weakest economies in the world before the war.

Putin cannot admit it, but he doesn't have much left before he has to call it quits. He doesn't have the means anumore for drones, after Iran has been devastated. And N.Korea is not much of a replacement for what Iran used to supply.

So, nice try, but Putin has nothing left, other than what he's got leftover from his military stash. He can't replace it, and even the ammunition for his soldiers will be hard to come by.

When the people are not doing the spending and most of the spending is by the government, especially necessitated by the spending for the war, it's not growth worth a damn.

Military spending can grow the economy, but that's short-term. And military spending can screw with the rest of the economy when the government is taking about 40% of GDP to support the war effort.

Most of the growth is from government spending, but when it comes to the growth that benefits the people, it's a sorry state of affairs.

When the war ends, Russia will still be an economic basket-case, which they've been since forever. Think about it, Russia has a GDP slightly over 2 trillion dollars, and a population of about 150 million people. High poverty is the result. With a GDP that ranks 12th in the world, it's not anything to brag about.
