Gives the union a lot more leverage in a strike.
I’m so old I remember when union workers set aside money into savings before striking.
Double Dipping , the democrats always do it
Oregon legislature just passed such a law, I believe. Stoopid.
What can you expect out of Connecticut?
It’s how the free ride creatures operate what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine.
This is not merely more "gimme". It's also a symptom of union dues lining the pockets of union bosses instead of being used to support union activities.
Stupidity & cost (least of all the flagrant ethics violations of GOVT being the ‘negotiator’, ‘employer’, kick-back enjoyer & ‘bank’ of taxpayer $$) NEVER enters into contention when it’s merely the taxpayers left holding the bag
UNEMPLOYMENT FUNDS ARE USUALLY PAID INTO BY EMPLOYERS-—
SO EMPLOYER’S $$$$$$ SHOULD PAY FOR STRIKERS AGAINST THEMSELVES????
ABSOLUTELY NOT-—NOT NOW-—NOT EVER.
Hell no
If this is enacted, every unionized business in the Connecticut should close immediately and relocate.
Why should they get unemployment for voluntarily leaving their jobs, that completely takes away the pressure for them to bargain if they lose nothing financially. It’s their choice so why should the unemployment fund pay for it?
We had a strike fund. Then we used our vacation fund.
