Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.

Isn’t cotton picked mostly by machines?

Yes. It was the sentiment behind the expression that I was going for.

Thank you for bringing up the extra available credit to immigrants. I hadn’t thought of it.

with the proper wages

For comparison, I did the stupidest construction labor imaginable in 1981 (like stacking bricks) and got paid the equivalent of $26/hr in today's money.

Do you think Italians pick tomatoes? Farmers can look to Europe for labor-saving machinery ideas. The hotel business can pony up extra wages.

I cleaned toilets and apartment buildings for tuition money.

There are a lot of people out here who would do the work, but not for the undercutting wages.

Janitorial work paid very well. That is, until illegals took the jobs at such a low rates.

Pay the prevailing wages.

You need to reboot and get updated.

This epic historic government sponsored decades long invasion of millions of illegals have choked off our schools, jails, social services, hospitals health care. Simple little things like like tax paid court interpreters for millions of these criminals and big things like medical, housing etc etc have cost the tax payers tens of hundreds of billions. Millions of illegals have driven the wages down for AMERICANS!

The tax payers have been taxed to death so greedy GD employers can get their low wage servant labor.

ENOUGH!

And I noted on your home page, Reagan seems to be your hero. Reagan kicked off a conga-line for untold millions of illegals. Nice.

Taking jobs Americans wont be paid for.

You will buy from me regardless.

If they pay the prevailing wage voters will pay more.
Construction cost of homes will increase. It will be short term pain for long term gain and I’m all for it. But most voters are not.

Sure there will be plenty of work for legal seasonal workers. We did just fine up until the 80s. High school and college kids always worked those jobs along with the workers who came up from northern Mexico, worked the harvest and then went home. The workers who came up year after year were good honest people who pretty much policed their own. The farmers who hired them took responsibility for their workers as well.

“Construction cost of homes will increase.”

They should. The home I bought in 2011 was built using migrant labor.

The wiring, according to the electrician I needed to repair a socket, is nothing like he has ever seen. The entire house was lovely and pricey and badly built.

A fire inspector deemed our neigborhood a future fire trap.

I know, there are inspectors. But inspectors do not always do their jobs.

Journeymen construction workers need to be hired once again. Companies can take a lesser profit.

It used to be that 10% profit was good. Not anymore.
