What you do is back up a few feet and then step on the gas and steer in a fishtail manner. My problem would have been my ex. She acts like a chicken with its head cut off when in danger.

Stopping and becoming a stationary object or potentially target for a mob is the worst tactical mistake one could make.
If they’re in the street blocking traffic, that’s already the worst case scenario. Drive out of it.
However, don’t shoot any of them unless it’s absolutely indispensable to do so out of fear for one’s safety. It’s reasonable to just drive out of it...

No doubt about it. Should be ok with the governors permission. As for the fish-tailing. Doesn’t have to mean running over people but it will sure make them scatter!
Bottom line is this: Nobody wants to be the next Reginald Denny.
Charge the “protesters” with imprisonment or kidnapping charges. Identifies the parties so the affected can pursue civil actions against the paid agitators and those who fund them. Seize assets and set aside for civil awards. Bring pain to these who fund them.
