This all sounds fishy to me.
All I know about Mayor Bass is I can tell a big mouth when I see one.
Bass was in her 20s when she led the 70’s era Southern California cell of “Cuban Venceremos Brigade — a Fidel Castro regime-linked organization”...... an alleged terror group to subvert the United States and proliferate communism.
After working the opportunistic as a “brigadista,” Bass climbed the ranks to become an “organizer,” visiting Cuba every six months.
The current rioting, looting, destruction, firebombing, assaults on federal officers, waving the Mexican flag, burning the American flag, and the like in her city — deemed by Democrats and their friends in the corporate media as “peaceful” — coupled with the failure of state and local law enforcement to protect the the citizens of Los Angeles is far less surprising when put in the context of Bass’s reported violent revolutionary sympathies
How does this sap-happy African sucker have any say wrt what happens on American soil?
Bass let LA burn to the ground while she was using tax dollars on a stupid
political junket to suck up to opportunistic east african pols w/ the gimmees.
“ They’ve been detached from reality for quite some time now.”
More than 100 years and counting.
You misspelled Bass’ lie-ability...
Do not doubt, because
"The trout is out there."
(I want to b eel ieve.)
She might just get scrod, which would be very subjunctive of her, hardly indicative of better things to come.
For example,
Salmon Dave -- "I'm a Sole Man"
"I'm a Sole Man"
Me, I'm not a sole man, I'm a grouper
Wall eye for one am tired of all the flakey ‘experts’ wand ering around in flashy clothes.
If Marlin were a reel wizard, he could have drawn a sword AND a fish out of a stone. So much for his teachings — he couldn’t even pull out the s-word.
Epic flail. He’s fin-ished, carput. Time to clam up.
Have we not all read about Aaron’s rod?!
And what of Moses? The master trawler!
The bottom line is that neither buoy was a chum of Pharaoh..
She was one of the figurative arsonists on this one as well!
Karen Bass, the 43rd mayor of Los Angeles, has a controversial past tied to radical activism in the 1970s through her involvement with the Venceremos Brigade, a U.S.-based organization linked to Fidel Castro’s Cuban regime. Founded in 1969 by members of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and Cuban officials, the Brigade aimed to show solidarity with the Cuban Revolution, challenge U.S. policies like the embargo, and promote Marxist-Leninist ideals. It has been described as a Cuban intelligence operation to subvert the United States and spread communism, with allegations of training participants in guerrilla warfare, sabotage, and bomb-making, though Bass has denied involvement in such activities. In her early 20s, Bass became a key figure in the Brigade’s Southern California cell. She started as a “brigadista,” participating in trips to Cuba to engage in activities like construction work and cultural exchanges, which often served as cover for ideological indoctrination. A 1975 issue of the communist newspaper Daily World identified her as the “leader of the Venceremos Brigade in southern California,” and a 1996 Ph.D. dissertation noted that she visited Cuba every six months, rising to the role of “organizer.” These trips, reportedly at least eight to fifteen in total, involved interactions with Cuban officials and exposure to revolutionary rhetoric, including speeches by Castro, whom Bass later described as “charismatic.”
The Venceremos Brigade’s ties to radical groups like the Weather Underground and the May 19th Communist Organization (M19), both designated as domestic terrorist groups by the FBI, have fueled criticism. For instance, Susan Rosenberg, an M19 member involved in the 1983 U.S. Capitol bombing, was linked to the Brigade. While there’s no evidence Bass engaged in violent acts, her leadership in a group accused of radicalizing youth and promoting anti-American agendas has drawn scrutiny. A 1976 FBI report and a former Cuban intelligence officer’s testimony in 1983 suggested the Brigade was used to recruit and indoctrinate Americans, with some receiving weapons training, though Bass stated any firearms training she encountered was from an undercover LAPD officer in California.
Bass’s later statements, such as her 2016 condolence message calling Castro’s death a “great loss to the people of Cuba” and referring to him as “Comandante en Jefe,” intensified controversy. She later expressed regret for the wording, claiming her views had “developed over time” and that she now recognizes the brutality of Castro’s regime. Bass has maintained that her Brigade involvement focused on humanitarian work, like building houses, and was driven by a desire to engage with Cuba’s social programs, not to endorse communism. She has consistently identified as a Democrat and denied being a socialist or communist.
Her radical past resurfaced during her 2020 consideration as Joe Biden’s vice-presidential running mate and again during her 2022 mayoral campaign, with critics arguing her Brigade ties and Castro sympathies reflect a revolutionary mindset. Supporters contextualize her actions within the 1970s anti-war and civil rights movements, noting her subsequent career focused on community organizing, criminal justice reform, and mainstream Democratic politics. Nonetheless, her leadership in the Venceremos Brigade, frequent Cuba visits, and early radical affiliations remain a polarizing aspect of her background.
Orange you being a little Roughy on the reputation of fish?
Not sure about that. They seem to love her.

You’re right. I was out of line. I got hooked on this thread. Time to scale back.
