DeSantis raises concerns about Trump’s negotiations with Iran: ‘Hazardous’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis voiced skepticism about President Trump’s negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program, arguing that the theocratic regime can’t be trusted.

The Sunshine State governor warned that “trying to cut a deal with Iran” is “hazardous,” and emphasized that Tehran is “not a traditional country” that can be treated in a “traditional way.”

“I don’t see them as being good faith actors and in any way, shape or form. And the reality is they cannot be allowed to enrich uranium, period. End of story,” DeSantis told conservative radio host Mark Levin.

“They are a militant Islamic government. Their view of mutual destruction with nuclear weapons is actually something they think would be fine because they think they’re all going to go to heaven in paradise if that happens.”

Earlier this year, Trump penned a missive to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei telling the Ayatollah that he wants to see a deal to resolve the nuclear issue “very soon.”

Wonders if Iran’s last chance to stave off an industry-obliterating bombing campaign is, truly, right now.

Or if it can continue defying the U.S. and Israel, with typical impunity.

Wont matter either way after the courts throw another monkey wrench against Trump’s international negotiations. With courts like ours, what country will actually sit down with our President and hammer our a deal that will become null and void by our own court system?

negotiating with serial liars such as Iran or the chiComs always has risks...i will trust my President who has made more deals than everyone on Capitol Hill- combined...at the very least he can say he tried.

...as if they’re the only nuclear-capable country that “can’t be trusted”...

The same Congress that Trump claims delegated authority to him to impose tariffs also created a specific court to ensure that the President didn't exceed that delegated authority.

Claiming that the court lacked authority to do what it did is nonsense.

People don’t understand Trump I don’t know why. He is a professional life long economics and finance game theory man

Now desantis knows this. He is a lawyer and a life long politician

If he has a point it would, in my estimation, have something more to do with opportunism. He’s sending his wife out to be governor. Why?

He’s got Florida to manage. Why is he sticking his sanctimonious nose into international puzzle solving

I think I’m his point is that he is a gigantic pain in the ass running for 2028.

“”Does the Governor have a point?””

No, not really. It’s just more second-guessing the Trump strategy by those that either aren’t familiar with his deal-making tactics... or that want to criticize him on what he “might” end up doing. A president must at least try (or appear to try) to negotiate peace and deals with evil nations, as well as with nations that are not enemies. To criticize those attempts is asinine and unrealistic.

The term ‘walk a mile in my shoes’ comes to mind when considering what a S-storm that being Trump has evolved into and what he has had to deal with already, including assassination attempts. I like DeSantis, but he needs to either get a grip on the reality that we (our nation, as founded and as free) are facing or STFU.

Spot on post!

Similarly, this kind of insidious judicial overreach and abuse can also have the same effect on domestic negotiations knowing that courts are really in control.

Looks like posturing by DeSantis. He must sense some political gain by injecting himself into this situation at this time. JMHO

the Trump strategy is stalled in the courts of activist judges.

That needs to be fixed NOW or a strategy is nothing more than an idea.

What part of the “Death to America” threat shouted by Iranian officials and their mobs at rallies does Trump not understand?

Wait! I forget! Trump is just playing Fourth Dimensional Chess with them. The man is a genus!

The Mullahs will be wearing MAGA hats when they sign his treaty. Wait and see.

“”Looks like posturing by DeSantis. He must sense some political gain by injecting himself into this situation at this time. JMHO””

Well, IMHO... any time you take a stance that ends up siding with the radical leftist Democrats... you are not only 100% wrong to have taken it... you really need to stop “injecting yourself”. And that goes for any of them, those pretending to be on our side...the right side, that do it.

Here’s the difference. When the Democrats attempt to make deals or negotiate with Iran, they’re making deals under the table that help Iran and undermine the USA and Israel... and that puts money in their pockets (or offshore accounts).

That will not be the case with Trump attempting to make a deal with Iran... and Iran will not ‘profit’ from said deal. The left knows that full well, which is why they’re against it, natch. DeSantis should know this as well... so if he is letting his political ambitions ‘trump’ what is right and what is good for the country, he is dead wrong to do so.

“”the Trump strategy is stalled in the courts of activist judges.

I understand and share the frustration. But I stand by my stance that sinking to the lawless left’s levels of ignoring the rules and laws to achieve their end is not or should not be “our” strategy. If it’s wrong for them to do it, it will be wrong for us to do it, as well.

The “courts” are merely making last ditch efforts to undermine and ‘resist’ the de-activiation of the DS machinery by the Trump Team. The words “have a little faith”... and with faith comes patience... keep running through my head. It has only been four months. Give it time, keep powder dry and pray that the path God has put us on (or back on) will lead to good things for America.
