Sir Keir Starmer has sent his thoughts to those injured and affected by a car ramming incident in Liverpool and is being "kept up to date" with developments as they come in.
Merseyside Police confirmed a 53-year-old man has been arrested after a car collided with pedestrians in Liverpool city centre during Liverpool FC's Premier League victory parade.
Emergency services rushed to Water Street after Merseyside Police were contacted just after 6pm on Monday with reports of the incident.
The car stopped at the scene and a man was detained by police.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: "The scenes in Liverpool are appalling my thoughts are with all those injured or affected."
He added: "I want to thank the police and emergency services for their swift and ongoing response to this shocking incident."
The Prime Minister also stated he was "being kept updated on developments" and asked "that we give the police the space they need to investigate".
Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner shared just minutes after the PM: "Deeply saddened by the horrific scenes in Liverpool.

We will have to wait for the press conference then. Eventually even the police and the msm have to come clean, just like they did with that "Welsh choir boy" who stabbed the little girls in Southport.

The early reports I read say “white British man.” which I find odd. Would they ever say “dark British man?” or fill in black, Asian, Allah loving etc

There is this: “The car stopped at the scene”. They do this when they report on shootings: “gunfire erupted” or “shots rang out”.
