Kurt Vonnegut from a short story.
“So he went down the narrow yacht club road, nearly broke his neck as he hit a series of terrific bumps put in the road to discourage speeders, to kill them, if necessary.”
Video....
Turned out to just be a cell video of Vin Diesel coming back from buying a quart of milk.

Tire store manager: Okay with me if they want to give me more business every week.

Notice the design was due to mind control from the space aliens above who earlier got the Nazca lines made to show symbols from their culture.
Now should be for NASCAR lines of fans inspired to see real drivers in action.
Sad photo.
Line from a prostitute in the Nightown section of James Joyce’s Ulysses:
“How’s your third leg tonight? Want me to stiffen it for you.?”

Poor Side of Town
song written and sung by Johnny Rivers (August, 1966)
That rich guy you’ve been seein’ must have put you down.
So, welcome back, baby, to the poor side of town.
To him you were nothin’ but a little plaything.
Not much more than an overnight fling .
To me you were the greatest thing this boy had ever found.
And girl, it’s hard to find nice things on the poor side of town.
Wanna organize a trip to spread oil (or something slicker if you know your away around the topic) on the problem streets?
Suitably camouflaged IEDs might do the trick as well.
Next step: Infliltrate the crowd and drop caltrops. Mythbusters made a very effective design.
made it to Canandaigua and Toronto but not Buffalo, sorry
One of these days I'm gonna post a video on X of me driving down the neighborhood roads in Mira Mesa (San Diego) where I can't go more than 10 MPH because my air bags would deploy if I hit those potholes any faster. The streets look like they've been shelled in war.
"Highest gas taxes in the nation and this is what you pay for!"
Of course, the gas taxes actually get swindled away by various homeless outreach organizations before they ever go to any road repairs. City officials in Southern California loath private transportation, don't believe any of us should own cars, and do their best to remind us of this constantly.
and how many of those california city politicians use public transit like the bus, to get around most of the time?
most of them are just hypocrites.. they want their cars, their chauffeur driven limosines, th..........they just want YOU off the roads so that they can scoot around faster, is all
Well done and great song.
You have to wonder how many city employees and elected officials there are in that crowd. Not to mention illegals. If there is time to take an aerial photo, there is time to arrest them all and sort them out later, while they are behind bars.
At one point he wanted to have it amputated, but it was thought to be too dangerous.
He actually married, and had a bunch of kids. He seems to have made the best of it.
Oakland gotta do Oakland.
Dangerous? How? Where I live there are 5, one out my front window. It doesn’t stop UPS drivers from going 15 MPH though, but everyone else goes 10 MPH.
Dig a small ditch a little deeper than a speed bump is high, and finish it with concrete. You know how cities are about fixing potholes, it will take years to fix the “defect”.
Great idea.
Good for him. This is just another reminder to me of how simple and blessed my life has been thus far.
Somewhat related: Once in a while, I will hear about WW2 Vets who experience ‘everything’ a soldier could be ordered to do in that war.
They came home, found a worthwhile routine , found someone to give their love to, and just went the heck on with their lives! Of course, not all were that way, but far more Vets than I would have expected.
FUNFACT: Mel Brooks (famous movie director) is a WW2 Vet!
He served as a combat engineer. Can you imagine that?
