An anagram of “Rome / Robert Prevost” is

MR. ROBOT SERVO PETER

He’s going to be revealed to be a Terminator T-800.

The African cardinal that was in the running was a hard ass conservative.

He’s an impressive guy.

Well he did spend time in Chicago, so anything is possible. If he did, watch out below.

If more Catholics in America were sensible, when false proffets like the last pope appear, vote with your pocketbook. There is a distinction between religion and a church.

I don’t see how that matters. Since Francis chose the vast majority of cardinals, the chances were pretty good that one of his cardinals would be chosen.

It appears this guy is another anti-MAGA loon from his tweets.

As a cradle Catholic, I fear the Church here on Earth is firmly no longer Catholic and in a state of heresy for the time being.

Well, it’s happened before and got over it.

In the mean time, I will remain Catholic and reluctantly attend an actual Christian church and hope the Church heals in my lifetime so I can be in communion with her.

Not necessarily. One never knows how these things turn out. For some people, no pope will ever be good enough. For others popes are either too traditional or too liberal.

As Americans, we judge leaders through our own political lens and have a hard time seeing a bigger picture of the role of the pope.

Consider JPII, working with Reagan and Thatcher to defeat communism. However, he was also a critic of consumerism and unrestrained capitalism. His positions were in line with Catholic social teaching, which many Americans often confuse with political positions. For example, Leviticus 19:33-34 tells us “The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

There are many Americans who would say those adhering to this are promoting illegal aliens. The list goes on. Ultimately, we can’t put the office of pope in a box like we do with most politicians.
