You can see women from time to time in the Bay Area not scanning some items at self-checkout - with their kids watching them do it. Parenting at its finest.

The Walmart near me just did the opposite they went from 12 self-checkouts to close to 24.

I personally refuse to use self check out. There are still a number of options from going to another store or ordering on line.

and that is my major complaint about self-checkout. no discount for doing someone else’s job and no personalized service. wifey likes it but when shopping with her I demand the service I’m paying for.

Better than they do too. Used to stand in line forever to check out an item or two. Now I can get from parking to back to the car in under 10 minutes. Self-checkout has been great for me.
