There will be a vote by Albertans on Alberta independence.
Everyone who has their ear to the ground agrees. They say you can bet the farm on it.
And just the fact there is an almost-certain vote on Alberta independence looming on the horizon will be a message heard across the country and right into the office of Prime Minister Mark Carney.
You see, under changes being brought in by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, the question of Alberta independence from Canada will be put to a vote of Albertans if the following happens.
If a total of 177,000 Albertans, names gathered over 120 days, say they want Albertans to have their say on Alberta independence in a referendum vote.

Alberta has about 4.2 M population. That makes it 28th largest state by population, just above Oklahoma and below Oregon.
This can happen now. It is happening.
And now is the time it can be made the 51st state.
Window of opportunity, history in the making.
Alberta 51
Canada deep state MSM article acknowledging it’s happening.

Danielle Smith’s reform is nudging Alberta separation vote from ‘if’ toward ‘when’
Alberta will get to boss around an Okie?
OK, let’s do this. Put’em up!
In principle, it is good.
We will probably lose the first one, but it is just the impetus Alberta needs to begin the process of protecting itself from the rest of Canada.
LOL.
Name the wager if you like. They will not become the 51st state.
C’mon
It is a process. I expect Danielle Snith will use the vote to justify closer relations with Washington and start pulling programs away from Ottawa and the tax dollars with it.
Little brother.
You don’t want it to?
CBC article says only 25% support it.
Maybe maybe not.
Federal liberals have been moving immigrants into the province. They almost always vote along nationalistic lines, because they want to be patriotic, and they don’t understand the issues.
Even if the vote fails, it will give Smith the impetus to start separating Alberta from the rest of the country where it matters most.
That’s the first step to eventual separation.
That’s how many are willing to publicly take a stand. It might be as 40% if an actual vote was held.
They would never give up free health care. You would get a friendly petro-state trading partner, one willing to negotiate bilateral trade.
Have not considered in detail if I want it to or not.
Some initial thoughts - I believe it’s a situation of the “grass is greener” syndrome.
The cost economically that the other Provinces and the Federal Government will exact in return for agreeing for Alberta to leave Confederation would be incredibly high.
Alberta has more influence in its current situation. As a 51st state it would be “just another” big state, so to speak.
Ouch! I bet that's expensive!
Is Alberta free of Muslims?
The care and feeding of Canadians is a lot harder than it looks.
Free healthcare allows their government to treat them as badly as they desire.
“CBC article says...”
There’s your first clue the statement following that phrase is bull💩.
CC
I agree. That’s why I wrote “CBC says” rather than present it as established fact.
