Veto a resolution from the Senate? Thought the veto was only used on bills passed by both House and Senate.
The veto threat is against the unlikely possibility that the resolution also passes in the House.
“Thought the veto was only used on bills passed by both House and Senate.”
Correct. A Resolution is not legislation that requires the President’s signature. It merely conveys the “Sense of the Senate,” regardless of how nonsensical the Senate is.

resolutions don’t carry the force of law and only legislation can be vetoed ...
the media seems confused about what’s actually going on in the Senate with respect to this issue, perhaps on purpose ...
at any rate, if it’s legislation, it’s subject to a 2/3 cloture vote in the Senate before it could be voted on, and even if all of those hurdles were jumped, the House would still have to pass it, and THEN President Trump could veto it ....
if it’s just a resolution, then it’s a meaningless Kabuki Theater stunt ...
