“I always choose to believe it’s something more sinister, until more facts come out, and even then, I am still skeptical.”
Likely not. In big cities there is always someone watching you for an opening. It can happen even in expensive restaurants like this one. Always be aware of who is around you.
Head of DHS? Does she not have at least one G-man with her watching discreetly?
I do something similar. 45 minutes worth every M W F. I’m 64.
If you eat anywhere other than a private club in DC, bad things will happen.
Doggone if you aren’t right!
“One of the two alleged perps is a migrant.”
At least half right :-)
Maybe a little more info here:
“Masked Thief Who Lifted DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s Gucci Purse Arrested, Second Suspect at Large”
“While some reports alleged that Noem may have been targeted because she is the DHS Secretary, according to NBC News, D.C. Metro police records indicated that another woman was targeted at a nearby eatery three days prior to the theft of Noem’s purse, with a similar MO:.”
Bicycle 20 minutes.
Light weights about an hour. Joints complain if I load up too much weight.
Watch a movie while on the bike, music playing for the weights. Makes it enjoyable.
I’m 73.

Thanks for the additional information. I noted that 2 secret service agents were watching her from the bar. The suspect was either so smooth that the secret service didn’t notice him, or they were too occupied at the bar to watch properly.

Exactly. I didn't even carry a purse for many years, especially while living in a high-crime city, riding the subway, traveling by plane, and so on. I kept the important things in hidden pockets.
Of course, we all let our guard down sometimes, and sometimes we learn the hard way. I'm still cautious, but not as cautious as I once was.
Still, I would never do what she did. She's the Head of DHS, and she put $3,000 cash, her passport, her driver's license, her apartment keys, and her DHS badge in one handbag - and brought it to a burger place in Washington, DC. There are photos of the restaurant's interior online. Those tables are very close together.
How foolish do you have to be? The most high profile thing going on in our nation right now is the deportation of illegal aliens. And then one goes and steals the purse of the Secretary of Homeland Security. Either it was a set-up by the deep state for some reason, or he is one of the most ignorant criminals around.
Something else may have been going on.
Let’s wait and see.
Sounds like she could easily whip my old retired carcass; maybe she should be given the chance to “meet with” the one who stole her purse.

Best to you! I had major back surgery a year ago and it amplified some essential tremor issues - standing balance being one. I am seeing specialists on 6/2, but one thing I have noticed is the more upper body strengthening I do the less I feel the tremors. They aren’t gone but manageable.. One thing you might want to try is get a set of 5 & 10 lb dumbbells and learn some of the exercises that are mentioned, kickbacks, rows etc. they really help! Good luck!
