I’ve mentioned a giant mylar umbrella before. Article 35 years ago.

Now, if we can agree on where we set the thermostat.

...will it also trap more carbon dioxide?”
.
Why not bury CO2 as a “carbonated beverage” of sewage/water we pump below impervious layers of clay? (2000 feet below the surface).

That sounds a bit like saying God wanted Adam and Eve to sin in the garden...

” .. .You could also put nanosized aluminum particles or titanium which would form titanium or aluminum dioxides again directly injected into the stratosphere which would reflect IR radiation back to space and cool the planet on a huge scale. . .”. .

“Why not bury CO2 as a “carbonated beverage” of sewage/water we pump below impervious layers of clay? (2000 feet below the surface).”

It’s easier to just inject pure CO2 into fractured basalt rock which the injected CO2 can frac it for you with enough overpressure, at depth CO2 is already a supercritical fluid and it will rapidly seek out calcium, magnesium and sodium in the minerals of mafic rocks. It forms solid carbonates with all three of those anions locking it away forever. Basalt is the basement rocks of every ocean basin on earth and underlies large parts of continental rocks too that have been deposited over it or it erupted as sheet lava flows like Oregon or New Mexico. Hawaii is nearly all basalt as well so is Iceland and all of the mid ocean ridges. Trillions of tonnes of CO2 could be locked in carbonate artificially induced mineralization. So much you could actually bring down the total atmospheric content under 150ppm and that would make C3 plants struggle (rice, potatoes, wheat, soybeans, most trees) at 100ppm and stop at 80 ish ppm. C4 plants (corn, sorghum, millet, sugarcane) can use CO2 down to single digit ppm. Cactus and agave are CAM plants and fall between the two some plants are hybrid C3-C4 like cassava a staple in Africa so the lower limit for CAM and hybrids is 100 ish ppm

“PUSH FOR MORE SOLAR PANELS

THEN MAKE PLANS TO “DIM THE SUN”.

HAT EFFECT MIGHT THAT HAVE ON GROWING CROPS???”

Crops are very inefficient at using solar photons less than 1% get used to actually make plant total biomass. A lot of crops do better under the shifting shade of solar panels it’s reduces heat stress, and drastically cuts water consumption via evapotranspiration that plants use to thermo regulate basically sweating like mammals do. For lots of crops bigger leaves = more yield like lettuce, basil and of the herbs. Grasses and herbaceous grow better too like, coastal, Bermuda, alfalfa we call that cattle and sheep feed.

The U.S. should shoot down any rockets sent up to attempt this crime against humanity.

You need a volcano or asteroid to temporarily make it work for a few years then you have to repeat.

No, it’s just what I said.
A dumbassed scam plan that’s going to be very problematic for earth’s inhabitants, short-term and long-run. As a retired Horticulturalist of 40+ years, I’ve seen hairbrained crap like that go badly.
