For the record, I see merit, and I strongly recommend a thorough investigation to provide the pros and cons of rank file voting.

Our Founders envisioned many factions competing for the votes. I believe the notion of rank-file voting opens the door for more political parties or factions to have an opportunity to be recognized.

I believe that represents an improvement over the carefully structured Republican and Democratic Political Parties Sandbox.

Ranked Choice voting favors political organizations with strong centralized control over their followers, at the expense of grass-roots organizations and ordinary voters. The organization with strong centralized control just dictates to their followers whom to vote for and in what order and their voting power as a bloc will give them a strong advantage over the rest of the electorate. (Think for example of a slate of school board candidates, where the average voter will only know or care about 1-2 candidates but won't fill out the whole ballot.)

So, not hard to figure out why the more totalitarian party is pushing this.

And the centralized controllers can enter a few stalking horse candidates in the opponent’s race to dilute the other party’s votes.
