As of today, The Wall is the thing. I got as much religiously as I needed there.

The Temple Mount is a flat square with two large muslim blights. Historically interesting, especially the one bit of rock showing at approximately the spot Abraham offered Isaac to G-d. But not as moving as the Kotel, which is the current center of Judaism.

Maybe someday when Jews have exclusive rights to the Temple Mount as I hope, there will be a more religious significance to that space. As I noted elsewhere, I’m hopeful for a Third Temple exclusively there. But probably that is unwise for Israel due to the large war it would cause today.

I was referring to the Jordanian capture of the Old City Jerusalem in 1947. They did indeed destroy every synagogue in the Old City. The Jews rebuilt them after 67.

That this wasn’t done years ago (1967?) shows astounding restraint on the part of the Jewish people.
