WASHINGTON (AP) β Former President Joe Biden returns to the national stage Tuesday to elevate liberal concerns that President Donald Trump's agenda is threatening the health of Social Security.
The 82-year-old Democrat has largely avoided speaking publicly since leaving the White House in January, which is typically the tradition for immediate past presidents. That's even as Trump frequently blames Biden for many of the nation's problems, often attacking his predecessor by name.
Biden is expected to fight back in an early evening speech to the national conference of Advocates, Counselors and Representatives for the Disabled in Chicago. While Biden has made a handful of public appearances in recent weeks, Tuesday's high-profile address focuses on a critical issue for tens of millions of Americans that could define next year's midterm elections.

Needs money? Heβs pulling in 2 government pensions, his senate and presidential, plus SS and healthcare for life.
Well Whoopi Goldberg said Jill was a great Doctor. Maybe she could do a few heart transplants or brain surgeries to get some cash. Or maybe she could give Whoopi a brain. That would be worth something.
Joe Biden will speak today. The best way to understand anything he says is to watch the signer. The occasional middle finger flashed by the signer should make Biden crystal clear.
Oh goody! I have missed his slobbering incoherence! Please, let’s have more Joe Biden public comments.
The latter, presumably he actually speaks.
I can’t believe they are letting him out of the house. π
If the Democrats had any sense, this would continue to be the case.
But Democrats donβt have any sense.

Obama allowed Social Security to be frozen for most of his presidency because home prices were not rising, even though many consumer prices doubled. That is a real cut. Obama ran up twice as much debt as George W Bush did in 8 years, plus Obama, Biden and Hillary voted for the 2007-2009 unnecessary spending binge as senators that became part of Bush’s record. Worse than that, Obama gave income tax refunds to people who paid no income tax, ie he raided the SS & Medicare so-called “trust funds” to give welfare through the tax code to immigrants, illegal immigrants, minority allies & poor whites whose votes he sought to buy.
Biden ran up more debt in 4 years than George W Bush did in 8 years. No two presidents endangered SS and Medicare more than Obama & Biden did, both of whom LIED and got away with claiming they “cut the deficit in half”. Compare deficits when the unemployment rates are the same, not from recession to 4.5% unemployment. George W Bush came closer to a balanced budget by Feb 2008 than Obama or Biden ever did or tried to.
Reagan RAISED the Social Security tax. Clinton eliminated the cap on Medicare tax. Those are the last presidents to actually do something to protect SS and Medicare
Joe has been practicing this speech for 5 months. Someone needs to put βI am retardedβ on his Teleprompter.
Demagogueing for senior citizens. All you have to do is this little trick with your thumb, and you can demagogue around as if you were still in your thirties. But hurry up and order the triple-dipple secret from us before the federal government takes this video down. It’s a steal at only $39.99. Operators are standing by.
Well, at least he beat medicare.
Will he shout, will he whisper, will he mumble?
Can one sign in senile gibberish?
I have yet to hear of a person who has lost legitimate benefits or even been threatened with the loss or reduction of benefits. Same for Medicare. And, for that matter, I haven’t even heard of a proposal to that effect.
...so, it’s an uphill fight for the Dems, but only if the Republicans are willing to point that little, inconvenient, fact out (that no one is getting screwed by Trump) - but then that’s asking a lot of them.
Well, that should be entertaining. I have been wondering how much he has slid downhill since we have last heard from him. There are limits to what drugs can do.
Oh crap. I liked things better when we didn’t hear his voice.
