The 2nd Amendment died in Colorado on a sunny spring afternoon in Denver, and Democrats murdered it. Yesterday, so-called "moderate" Democrat Gov. Jared Polis put his signature on SB 25-003 — perhaps the most convoluted and restrictive gun control law anywhere in the nation. But don't you worry — Democrats are gunning next for the 1st Amendment.
Polis said at the signing, "This legislation builds on our commitment to improve public safety, reduce gun violence, uphold our freedom." I say, "Oh fer cryin' out loud, it will do none of those things and everybody knows it."
Polis spent months putting on a pantomime "Will He, Won't He?" act about whether he'd sign the bill that began life as a much smaller creature. Originally meant to add teeth to Colorado's existing ban on regular-capacity magazines, the bill quickly metastasized into a 2nd Amendment-killing cancer.
Under SB 25-003, it will now take weeks of appointments, classes, and a minimum of $300 — plus your local sheriff's permission, which you may or may not receive, and that he might revoke for a whole host of reasons — to legally purchase the most common firearms in America. I went into the details here earlier this week.

My question is this: You traded the 1st and 2nd amendments for legal weed. Was it worth it?
I suppose most Colorado residents are too stoned to notice.
Excellent. You nailed it.
“You traded the 1st and 2nd amendments for legal weed. Was it worth it?”
You’re obsessed with pot like so many Freepers. Most people in Colorado don’t use it. We have been overrun with coastal white women. These laws are unconstitutional on their face.
Being stoned removes motivation. The Insanely Idiotic party in control is only there because the majority of urban. CO dwellers are also Insanely Idiotic and with manipulating elections, put the IIP in charge. Bring on the wolves!
No danger of a wolf being shot, is there?
This place is feckin going down the drain.
I wonder how the folks living in Colorado Springs feel about this particular bill?
It is now, officialy, Komirado!!
overrun with coastal white women.
Exactly, the only hope is that CO can survive a generation of women who are not having children
My niece was living in a small town (8k pop), right on the NM border. Trinidad made huge bank on the pot trade.
Now that is over (the Green Rush) and she has had it with the politics.
Moved to small town TX this winter.
Obviously this act violates the “shall not abridge” command of the 2A. I hope it is quickly put on hold by a court until overturned.
What the new law doesn’t talk about is the existing weapons in circulation. What happens to those weapons? This law won’t reduce the inventory by one.
Wow.
Colorado was warned fifty years ago. The most popular bumper sticker was..
“DON’T CALIFORNICATE COLORADO!”
Well, it has been and now they are moving in on New Mexico.
These laws are unconstitutional on their face.
But Colorado, New Jersey, et-al are different countries.
However, as you point out, that overarching constitution makes this all moot - once someone with the financial ability chooses to fight this being enforced against them.
Commierado
Yep
Or East California works too for added multiple insults
They are just getting started. The Co House just passed a bill that will strip you of custody if you “misgender” your child.
Sounds pretty dang “infringy” to me. WTH do we out up with this crap?
Yes. In the mean time though, people will have their rights infringed millions will be wasted on court battles; and in the end not a single damn communist POS will face any repercussions for it. And THAT is the problem.
One of my kids lives in Colorado. He’s put two more GUNS ON THE STREEEEEEET in the last couple weeks.
He already has an admirable collection.
