California just blew a deadline for voter-approved health care measure — losing millions of federal dollars

...California voters told lawmakers last fall that they wanted doctors to get paid more to see low-income patients. But officials for the Newsom administration blew past a federal deadline to make that happen through Medi-Cal Monday, effectively leaving millions of dollars unclaimed...

...The Department of Health Care Services, the agency that oversees Medi-Cal and the implementation of Prop. 35 did not respond by publication deadline to questions from CalMatters about why the state missed the funding deadline.

...

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office refused to respond to questions about why the appointment has not been made.

A federal judge in DC will extend the deadline in perpetuity.

Maybe the illegals they hired to fill government jobs didn’t understand the English on the filing forms.

Trump should freeze medicaid funds to states that distribute said funds to illegal aliens. Require e-verify for ALL recipients. California has handed out $6B in free healthcare to illegals, most of it federal money. Not a single federal dollar should pay for illegals in sanctuary states/cities.

The idea that any state gets any money at all from the federal government regardless of the reason has the Founding Fathers rolling in their graves. Particularly in light of the fact that the money is not just given because “its needed” out of the goodness of government’s heart - the money is used by government for bribery purposes.

Strings attached. You want this money? Oh. Yeah. Do what we want first.

No one is better at free money than California, so I suspect to get their mitts on it they would have to submit fraudulent data to do so. New sheriff in DC, so they let the time run out. Well it’s a theory.

More of a “mis-allocation of funds”, they are just spending the existing medical insurance tax money (’millions”) on general fund items instead of the new proposition mandated physician reimbursements like they should be doing. An “advisory committee” appointment problem by “Gruesome Newsom”., etc.
