I remember the first time I walked into a VA to visit my FIL. BIG union office right at the entrance to the VA. It seemed kinda "in your face" and creepy.

Another, sorta govt. union story. I was working with an engineer for our local transit agency and he told the story of a kid (gearhead) who got hired at the bus garage as a mechanic. For his first task, they told him to rebuild a bus engine. He did it in two days. He got in trouble because they told him it was a two WEEK job. He ended up quitting.

This action only ends bargaining rights, which were granted by executive order.
Federal employees first obtained the right to engage in collective bargaining through labor organizations of their choice in 1962, when President Kennedy issued Executive Order 10988, which also authorized the use of limited advisory arbitration of grievances.

My wife is a retired school speech pathologist. Many years ago, the district hired a black assistant speech pathologist who had a PhD. She was a problem for the district from the get-go.

My wife is super organized, so they assigned her to supervise this Black assistant. My wife simply held her accountable, and the Black assistant quit 2-3 months later.

Firing a Black educator comes with a risk of a lawsuit, but she realized suing the district was not am option because my wife is very organized and no constructively fire person and no attorney would stand a chance in questioning my wife.
