If Canada elects Carney they are just getting Trudeau 2.0
Would like to Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada make a good showing. They are true nationalists and conservatives, whose ideology would be widely represented and recognized within the Republican Party in the USA - but have been pushed to the fringe in woke, globalist Canada.
Pick a target, vilify it, freeze it and then call an election! Someone used Trump…….

Carney and the rest of the wretched Liberals have an artificial boost because they have made “mean Mr. Trump” a common enemy. So they want a snap election before the boost evaporates as Canadians remember what the Libs did to their country. It might work and they will be sorry within days.
So Canadians are easily manipulated.
That’s how Canadian politics works, and how it works in any country with a Westminster style government. The Prime Minister/Premier will make decision to call an election, but then formally will ask the King/Governor General/Governor/Lt. Governor/President (depending on the country/state/province) to dissolve Parliament and call an election. This is Politics 101.

The Progressive Conservative Party name is the tell. How is a progressive conservative or how is a conservative progressive?
The old federal Progressive Conservative Party ceased to exist after what was left of them merged with the Canadian Alliance (formerly known as Reform) to form the modern Conservative Party of Canada in 2003.
The old federal PC’s effectively died after they got slaughtered in 1993, but the reunion of conservative leaning parties took almost ten years to work out.
The PC name is still used by the Ontario Tories, but provincial and federal parties are separate organizations in Canada due to a number of factors.
Thanks for the update and clarification.
