D.C.'s attorney general's office has ended a lawsuit against the far-right groups Proud Boys and Oath Keepers for their role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, citing a lack of "potential recoveries the District could obtain," the agency confirmed to 7News.
The decision follows other rollbacks on legal actions against those who took part in actions seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 election after President Donald Trump's loss, many of whom were pardoned by the president when he returned to office in January.
The 2021 lawsuit, filed by then-District Attorney General Karl Racine, sought damages against the groups and deter similar events in the future.
"Given the challenges currently facing the District and the relatively small potential recoveries the District could obtain, OAG's resources are now needed and best used elsewhere," according to a statement from the D.C. Office of the Attorney General.

Can the DC attorney general’s office be sued for malicious lawfare to recover legal expenses?
Heo4ge Zimmerman was maliciously tried by prosecutors who knew dang well he was innocent- they covered up facts that proved his innocence, and presented lies that they knew were false. I don’t think he was able to sue unfortunately.
