It’s no yolk but nobody thought of it before me.
I can hear the democrats wail now. “Egg Prices are falling! Farmers will go bankrupt! And it is ALL TRUMP’S FAULT!”
Where in the US are eggs $3.45/dozen? I live in Southern California. Cheapest I can find here is $9.99 for a dozen medium eggs and $10.99 for a dozen large eggs.
The report is from the Department of Agriculture, so if you don’t believe them, well, it’s up to you.
The delay between wholesale price drops and retail price changes in grocery stores can happen for a few reasons:
Inventory Turnover: Stores may still be selling eggs purchased at higher prices. Until that stock is sold, the lower wholesale prices might not be reflected on shelves.
Supply Chain Lag: It takes time for price adjustments to work their way through the supply chain, from producers to distributors to retailers.
Retail Pricing Strategies: Some stores may choose to maintain higher prices temporarily to recover costs or maximize profits.
Typically, it can take a few weeks for wholesale price changes to be fully reflected in retail prices.
Oh, yeah… I said I’d probably see the drop soon.
