Of course, in typical FR fashion, at least 20 FReepers will FReepsplain to me that that is not unusual at all. That up to 90 % of college students are in their 30s. And the other 50% are in their 40s and 50s.

I’ve never understood what a graduate student is. It sounds like a contradiction in terms. Did you live on campus?
In England they are called "postgraduate" students.
I never lived "on campus" but usually lived within walking distance of the campus.
