In 2017, as other members of Congress were facing accusations of sexual assault and rape, the sex-predator Al Green once again bribed Daniels to sign a joint statement to get ahead of the scandal resurfacing.

This $17 million figure is frequently mentioned. It refers to only one source of hush money during a limited time period. The total amount paid to keep people quiet is considerably larger.
