Getting back to business. Put that USA stamp on every board.

Get some of these housing costs down.

Owls....be on the lookout for chain saws....

“I sleep all night “

I thought that back in the day [in the Winter tree harvesting season] Lumberjacks got up before dawn and stopped after Sundown.

[And bunked in what looked like Slave Ship accommodations.]

Yes that’s true but @ $28B (2023), US is a good customer. That’s good money right there.

I’d jump in to say that President Trump should also encourage large scale hemp products production. It makes a great substitute for wood pulp, can be used to create linen like cloth and high quality paper that has a neutral pH, and is also useful as high quality animal fodder, burns as a high temperature fuel, makes edible oil, etc.

It grows well on marginal land, so does not take away arable land from agricultural production, is insect resistant and requires little fertilizer.

A trouble with modern wood production is that often use old growth forest for bottom level things like wood pulp and chip, which is very wasteful. Instead it should be used for things like furniture.

We can do both. It means American jobs, too.

Our local NF apparently cut back on harvesting and at least one local sawmill shutdown. [Probably under BiXiden]

Maybe that lumber mill that was in the Twin Peaks TV series will be able to re-open?
Good jobs.

The Forest Service has more than the owl, they have listed everything they can to restrict production. Remember the Lynx Hair fraud they did a number of years ago.

They also had an endangered slug they could use to restrict logging. They planted little red flags wherever they found the “rare” slug. Turns out the slug was everywhere and if they wanted to stop a logging operation they had no trouble finding the slugs and planting little flags anywhere they wanted.

I'm of the feeling that the entire program should be abolished. You can make rules to protect the killing of say...the Eagle.

But wolves?? not in my back yard.

Too slow. 60days, 90 days, 280 days, etc. This needs to be done on a war footing.
