Republican Rep. Andy Biggs is exploring a run for Arizona governor in 2026, setting up a potential battle on the right to lead one of the nation’s most consequential swing states.

“Arizona has a bright future but will need strong leadership to reach its full potential,’’ the former chair of the hard-line conservative House Freedom Caucus said on social media Tuesday, noting that he had filed a formal statement of interest with the Arizona secretary of state. “I have been honored to serve Arizona at the state and federal levels and will bring my experience home to my native state to help it fulfill its tremendous capacity.”

Can he win? Checking the conservative box won’t do it. If that state elected Flake then place is flaky.

AZ Resident since 2013 here. Several comments:

Hobbs is very unpopular and only needs a good candidate to be beaten.

Kari Lake was not perfect, but if not for the fraud, Lake would have won.

Biggs is popular and can beat Hobbs.

Hobbs was afraid to debate Lake, as Lake is both beautiful and polished. Lake would have annihilated Hobbs in a debate and Hobbs knows that, which is why she ran

Biggs would need to force Hobbs into a debate to assure his victory.

Arizona resident here:

President Trump has already endorsed Karin Robson, if she decides to run. Biggs will face an uphill battle in the primary.

Considering the current mood of the country, I think he has a good chance. The more Republicans unite among one good candidate (including national Party support--remember Kari had none), the better their chances.

The DOJ needs to go after AZ politicians on the cartel payroll.
