My take is that Obama will chitchat as he’s stabbing you in the back. He acted “friendly” this way during Trump first inauguration, all while knowing the plan started behind the scenes to wreck Trump’s first term with lawfare etc. He’s a demon extraordinaire.

I read their interaction differently. Obama walked past Trump & Melania and shook hands with everyone seated behind him. Then, he sat down next to Trump. Then, they started talking. Wish I could hear that conversation.
