Nine people were injured and one killed in a mass shooting that took place on the 8500 block of Loch Raven Blvd. in Towson on Tuesday evening, Baltimore County Police said.
Around 7:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Loch Raven Boulevard and White Oak Avenue, at the Johnson-Fosbrink Funeral Home, where they found a car flipped and on fire, and multiple victims, Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said during a news conference following the incident.
Police were still determining how many people had been shot Tuesday night, McCullough said. Multiple gunshots were visible in the facade of the funeral home building, and shell casings were on the scene, he said.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
The majority of nine victims who were transported to hospitals had gunshot wounds, police said in a news release late Tuesday.

Last night's reporting indicated a car first crashed into the funeral home before the suspect started shooting.
"At this time, multiple emergency crews and agencies are on the scene in Towson, Maryland, located in Baltimore County, responding to a mass shooting and mass casualty incident. Reports indicate that a car crashed into a funeral home before the suspect initiated a shooting spree, leaving seven people injured and multiple fatalities. Neighbors reported hearing more than a dozen gunshots during the incident. Officials have described the situation as highly active, with the potential for additional casualties as more information comes to light. The exact motive remains unclear as this is a rapidly developing situation."
Used to be a nice place to call home before all the section 8's were relocated there. Now Towson is just an extension of Baltimore City
WBAL is saying it's Parkville, which generates its share of criminal activity.
That area was once great and now it's full of section 8 housing and nothing but trouble. Why do you think the Bel Loc Diner closed and then Starbucks? The thugs, hoodlums and low lifes have taken over.
There is a huge apartment complex near when I used to live. Older buildings, but very nice. It was a good place for people just starting out to rent.
Well, about 20 years ago the owner decided to accept Section 8 as a way to fill the few unrented units.
Good idea…not. The place is now a major crime zone. Decent families avoid it like the plague. It’s so bad that the police now have a substation right on the property.
The owner was penny wise but pound foolish, as the old saying goes.
A law?
Why, there IS one.
Sailer’s Law of Mass Shootings:
If there are more wounded than killed, then the shooter is likely black.
If there are more killed than wounded, then the shooter is likely not black.

Leftist policing (or lack thereof) and jurisprudence results in a *lot* of black casualties.
I might have lived in that complex or one very like it, in the 80’s. Mine was on Woodson Road near Charles St. it was a nice, safe area with families who had lived in the nearby homes for years. Sad to hear of the decline.
I used to live in Parkville right off loch raven across from Immaculate Heart of Mary. I saw section 8 coming sold and moved to FL. That was 12 years ago and never looked back. Bmore is a sithole.
> Interesting site. However, I don’t see where you search for the race of the perpetrators. As for victims in 2024,

Obviously the perps were White cops.

Woodson Road is between York and Alameda, quite a bit east of Charles. Charles is known all the way through Baltimore for being high class, being the center of town.
However being south of Northern Pkwy I’m sure most of that is much nicer than this area off Joppa, quite a ways northeast of it, this funeral home was located. I’ve driven down that area periodically over the last few years and one can tell it’s yet another “not good area” of Baltimore.
I grew up in that neighborhood and it was a good working class neighborhood where kids played in the streets. Football games, whiffle ball and snowball fights. Sad if this is neighborhood related. Based on where the crash happened (on a busy commercial corridor) it is possible it does not have anything to do with the people living there.
I grew up on Amuskai Road and worked at the 7-11 on Joan Ave. It has been a while since I have been down there.
Close to Parkville but not quite, I guess. More like Loch Raven Village. But I guarantee that zone is not good.
Given exactly where it is, near Joppa Road, it’s not surprising. All along those “major corridors” on the east side is crud.
You got it right. And the MOTIVE is different.
Probably common thug careless violence.
1 killed, likely the target. 9 injured, likely the incidental bystanders they don’t care if they get in the way.
But it’s different with true mass incidents, like the WI school thing. Mass murderers INTEND to kill multiples, often random in a specific zone. Common thugs simply don’t care if anyone is in the way of their intended target.
The obituary page of the funeral home is overwhelmingly white people, so your theory about the area and the funeral establishment is off-base. Don't know about the car crasher and shooter, tho.
