A Secret Service agent fired at suspects who were attempting to open car doors near Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s home in Washington, D.C., early Tuesday morning, a spokesman said in a statement.
An agent working a protective assignment in the 2900 block of Stephenson Place NW saw a sedan with multiple people who were attempting to open car doors along the street at about 1:30 a.m., Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said.
That address is near where Yellen lives in the District, though Guglielmi said no Secret Service protectees were threatened during the incident.
“As the sedan approached the agent, a confrontation occurred between the agent and the car’s occupants,” Guglielmi said. “The agent discharged their service weapon, but there is currently no evidence to indicate anyone was struck.”

Because DC nomenklatura deserve the same-exact- treatment normal citizens get. Might help them make better decisions.
Secret service agents are allowed to preemptively fire their weapons, in a non violent crime situation?
Secret service agents are allowed to be involved in what appears to be a civilian law enforcement matter? Someone trying to break into cars is a matter for the Secret service to deal with?
Deadly force for a car theft? Me thinks there had better be more to this story or the S/S needs a serious overhaul of their training protocols.
Meanwhile in NY, Daniel Penny is having to defend himself in court, for defending himself and others from assault and/or possible murder.
Go figure . . .
Duty to retreat and all that HS.
Let the Biden mafia do shakedowns, cocaine etc. Stand by and watch politicians go rape kids on Epstein island… no problem, didn’t see a thing.
But some morons try to break into cars near a protectee’s home… they open fire!
Lucky for the thieves that SS couldn’t hit a bull in the ass with a big bass fiddle!
Apparently no sloped roofs were involved in the incident.
We would all go to jail for this. This was a property crime in progress and the agent obviously knew it. I’m sure they had no idea that a protectee lived there. I’d be willing to bet that this was a DEI agent.
Secret Service GUY or GAL is a VERU POOR SHOT!!
Luckily the turf walls of a Hobbit dwelling provide excellent protection against gunfire, so the Secretary was never in danger
Yes. Agree. That was my first thought when I read the stupid article.
“As the sedan approached the agent, a confrontation occurred between the agent and the car’s occupants...The agent discharged their service weapon”
This was like reading the script of a Trailer Park Boys episode.
Yeah… is amazing the serious federal crimes SS witnesses and down act on. But somebody tries to rummage through someone’s glovebox and they go cyclic.
“Luckily the turf walls of a Hobbit dwelling provide excellent protection against gunfire, so the Secretary was never in danger”
Residential buildings typically have brick walls in suburban NW DC.
Interesting that they have an encounter but apparently no one could detain these suspects, they just got to drive away?
“You shot at them?? We need to come up with a reason that’s not the real one”
I think he was referring to Yellen as a hobbit
Like the secret service did in Butler PA?
