emocrats are growing more confident about the prospect of Montana Senator Jon Tester's reelection.
A three-term incumbent and Montana's only congressional Democrat since 2007, Tester's poll numbers against Republican Tim Sheehy were bottoming out in the summer and he was considered the Democratic senator most likely to lose a reelection bid.
Support for Tester appears to have bounced in recent weeks amid growing controversy over the origins of a gunshot wound Sheehy suffered.
Sheehy, who is backed by former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has claimed throughout his campaign that he suffered a gunshot wound in his arm in 2012 from friendly fire while serving as a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan.

Newsweak is hoping they believe that liar.
I saw a clip of an interview between Megyn Kelly and Sheehy. She questioned him about the gunshot wound and he made some really nonsensical statements about it. I don’t know anything about it, but he came off looking really bad.
So that’s a reason to reelect Tester? What BS!!

Is Newsweek the most desperate and laughable of the entire tribe of liberal gaslighting media outlets?
I'll have to watch it again, but one of the things I noticed was that when he went to the hospital, the jobsworths there told him that they had to report it as a "gunshot wound", because apparently the bullet "fragments?" were involved with the current wound.
I don't think most people understand that you can be shot, and that sometimes the bullet or the fragments can remain in the wound.
I don't think Megyn understood - but many veterans would.
For an example of how jobsworths in the official systems work: Several years ago, I went to transfer an automobile title to a friend. The jobsworth at the DMV noticed that the vehicle had been in an accident 14 years before, and that the vehicle title did not reflect that fact [the accident records from another state had apparently caught up with the vehicle several years before].
I was selling the vehicle for a hundred bucks to the friend, and it was worth perhaps 300-400 bucks at the scrap yard.
The jobsworth insisted that the vehicle MUST be inspected by several "official" entities for the "damage" from 14 years before.
I pointed out that I'd been driving it for the last six years with no problem [actually, there was no hint of what the accident from years before even was].
Nope. Had to get the inspections done. Because the little tart could MAKE me get them done.
Newsweak is going all out on the hopium today.
RCP has the Republican up by 6.5 points.
The looneys are crawling out of their bin today.
Omg.
We really need to re-open some of those mental hospitals.
:-)
Tester has been lying to Montanans’ for almost 19 years - Tim is a breath of fresh air
We also need to pass out Xanax to the Freepers here who start having panic attacks when another lefty gaslighting article is posted.
I have to agree. Newsweak is going all out on the gaslighting today. One bogus story after another.
Some folks here have been taking those black pills—destroys all cognitive skills.
I don’t see the 2 alleged incidents as being exclusive of one another.
And the key takeaway is that the Republican was in actual combat.
This is hilarious.
As of today, Sheehy is up 8 points.
A recent poll has Sheehy up by only 4 points but the his average lead is higher. For some reason, they are not conducting many polls of this important race. Moreno is looking good in Ohio.
“I don’t think most people understand that you can be shot, and that sometimes the bullet or the fragments can remain in the wound.”
When I was growing up my we could feel the shrapnel in my dad’s arm and leg from a grenade in Korea. If that’s what Sheehy was trying to explain he did a piss poor job of it. You were able to interpret way more from that interview than I was.
