A mother’s love is more fickle than we thought. A distraught Washington Post reporter took to X Saturday to reveal that her own mother had nixed her subscription to the paper to protest owner Jeff Bezos’ decision to not endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
“My mom just told me she cancelled her subscription to The Washington Post. She reads every one of my stories. It was a heartbreaking call,” said Caroline Kitchener, who covers abortion issues for the paper. “I understand why she did it,” the writer continued. “Post reporters had no part in this decision. But when you cancel, you are hurting us, not our owner …
“I completely understand if you’ve lost faith in our owner, but please, don’t lose faith in us.”

“She reads every one of my stories”
Awwwwww. No more participation trophies
Oh my goodness. A leftist publication doesn’t make an endorsement. I have NEVER made a political decision based on what any news organization has recommended. Snowflakes and Karens, Soy Boys and Moonbats... That is what the other side is made of....
“My mom just told me she cancelled her subscription to The Washington Post. She reads every one of my stories. It was a heartbreaking call,”
Bezos must be seeking post-election credibility and relevance.
He’s betting Trump wins and low-IQ Harris dries up and blows away.
(sniff), (sniff), I smell bullsh*t.
If Bezos wanted to grow his subscription base he’d fire the whole crew and start over with an unbiased news crew. A decent paper which presents both sides fairly just might sell more papers. He should ask Michael Jordan how that works.
Someone else at the paper took credit.
Something rotten in Denmark. The WP editorial board has their reasons. I have a few theories as to why. These crazy plebs have been so brainwashed by media they cannot even consider why the WP editors may have a different take.
Some of those different takes may be a little fringe, like I said I have my theories But their audience appears to be psychologically worse off than the paper.
What’s mom going to do without her WAPO abortion story fix? Life is cruel.
Your mom should disown you for publicly advocating the murder of innocents.
Now I'm better off paying the shipping because I would only buy things from Amazon occasionally.
But yeah, Bezos' politics at the time made it even easier for me to cancel Prime.
Okay, what are the theories?
They know that Trump is going to win bigly, and they want to get on his good side before his Justice Department starts looking at their finances.
With any luck the communist WP will go belly up.
“Good abortion article dear. I wish I had read something like that before I got pregnant with you”.
Effing sickos.
My sad face.
My mother’s nursing home used to get a stack of the WaPo delivered to the lobby every morning as a courtesy for breakfast conversation. Lately they get a single paper for 800 units and it is still unopened in the afternoon.Long time DC residents find no value in the Washington Post.
AI’s have no mom.
Replace the reporter with AI and the drama goes away.
Lol.
